Mount Vernon — SonFest, Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s annual outdoor Christian music festival, will take place on Saturday, Oct. 5, from noon to 10 p.m., in the Grove of the MVNU campus. Thousand Foot Krutch will headline the event with multiple bands on two stages throughout the day.

Tickets go on sale Friday through, or at the MVNU Cougar Corner Bookstore, Gospel Supply Shop of Mount Vernon, Columbus West LifeWay Christian Store, Reynoldsburg LifeWay Christian Store, Columbus North LifeWay Christian Store, Berean Christian Stores in Canton and Copley, and The Bookery in Mansfield.

The complete lineup will include Thousand Foot Krutch, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Andy Mineo, Wolves At The Gate, Plumb, Capital Kings, MikesChair, Josh Wilson, Satellites and Sirens, Come Wind, Wyndsor, Last of the Wildmen and The Orphan, The Poet.

Thousand Foot Krutch, an Ontario-bred trio, formed in 1998 and immediately began compiling an impressive highlight reel that includes best-selling albums, four top 25 Active Rock hits, and several soundtrack slots. The band’s music has been featured in several ongoing ESPN appearances, various NASCAR, MLB, NHL and NFL airings including the 2010 SuperBowl, and the trailer for the feature film, “GI Joe.”

Andy Mineo’s latest album, “Heroes for Sale,” landed at No. 2 on the iTunes Album Chart and sold an unprecedented 30,000 copies in its first week. Plumb and MikesChair each have current singles charting on Billboard’s Top 25 Christian Songs.
