MOUNT VERNON — The second concert in the new summer series, “Music in the Garden,” is Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Children’s Garden located behind the Knox County Career Center. Sponsored by a grant from the Ariel Foundation, the concert is free to all and appropriate for families and children.
Attendees are invited to bring a picnic supper, blankets and chairs, and should be prepared to enjoy a variety of live music, as well as the beauty of the garden’s flora and fauna. This month’s concert features the Columbus jazz trio Miss B. Haven.
Accompanied by piano, bass and drums, Debbie Brennan’s silky vocals give jazz standards a unique and contemporary style. Come experience the garden filled with old and new jazz sounds.
Find out more about Brennan and the band on her website www.debbiebrennan.com.
SPI Spot will be on hand for some bubble fun and the science behind them. Come and learn about surface tension and the shapes that bubbles take on when created through many different means. Giant bubbles made with hula hoops and smaller ones using common kitchen utensils will entertain everyone.
