MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon High School is holding ACT and SAT test preparation workshops for students. The workshops will be held Sunday afternoons from 12:30 until approximately 2:30 p.m. at Mount Vernon High School (enter west door near senior parking lot). Workshops begin Sept. 8 and end Oct. 6. Registration is available at the door, space provided. Students should arrive at noon on Sept. 8.
Students need to register with Mrs. Riggs at the Mount Vernon High School Guidance Office by Sept. 4. The workshop fee is $60. A deposit of $30 is due with the completed registration form. Partial scholarships are available, based on the free and reduced lunch program. MVHS students will be given priority through Sept. 4 when registration opens to all Knox County residents.
Sophomores and juniors shooting for national merit scholarships are advised to take the SAT workshop in preparation for the PSAT test offered Oct. 16 at MVHS.
