MOUNT VERNON — The Heritage Centre Association’s third annual Rubber Duck River Race will take place during First Friday, Sept. 6, at the Kokosing River/viaduct. With the help of Ohio Rental, the rubber ducks will be dropped into the river at 7 p.m.
First prize is a three-day Carnival Cruise for two to the Bahamas/Caribbean and $500, sponsored by AAA. Second prize is a $500 shopping spree from the following: Concealment Unlimited, Creative Images, Dumbaugh Insurance, Flappers’ Bar & Grille, Good Impressions LLC, Herald’s Appliances and Electronics, Parkside Restaurant, Think Brand Studio, Whit’s Frozen Custard and the YMCA. Third prize is a 2014 family season pass to Hiawatha Water Park/Pool, provided by Richard and Peggy Mavis and HCA.
Entries are $10 each; purchase two and receive a free coupon packet featuring items from Colonial City Lanes, Dairy Queen, Hiawatha Water Park/Pool, Java Hut and Skateland. Obtain an entry at the HCA office at 102 S. Main St., or at First Friday until 6:30 p.m.
