MOUNT VERNON — An Afternoon of Tea and Murder with Amish mystery author Amanda Flower will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County, 201 N. Mulberry St.

An Agatha-nominated mystery author, Flower’s debut mystery, “Maid of Murder,” was a 2010 Agatha Award Nominee for Best First Novel and the first in a series featuring amateur sleuth India Hayes. She debuted her Appleseed Creek Mystery Series, set in Ohio’s Amish country, in 2012 with “A Plain Death,” followed with “A Plain Scandal.”

Flower released her Amish Quilt Shop Murder series including “Murder Plain and Simple” and “Plainly Murder” under her pseudonym Isabella Alan. Her third book in the series, “Murder, Simply Stitched,” is scheduled to be released in June 2014.

The program is free and open to the public. Books will be available for sale and autographs. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call 740-392-BOOK (2665), ext. 243; visit; or email
