MOUNT VERNON — This summer, the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County hosted two “real” archaeological digs in the backyard of the historic Cooper/Day house behind the main library as part of the “Groundbreaking Reads” Adult Summer Reading Program.
So what century-old secrets were uncovered? At the “Dig Into History” Brown Bag Chat on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at noon those interested can join Dr. Robert Chidester, a certified historical archaeologist and principal investigator for The Mannik & Smith Group, Toledo, as he shares a follow-up report on artifacts and any clues to history unearthed during the dig.
The program is free and open to the public of all ages. Feel free to bring a brown bag lunch; beverages provided.
For additional information, stop by the main library at 201 N. Mulberry St., Mount Vernon; call 740-392-BOOK (2665), ext. 243; visit www.knox.net; or email email@example.com.
