Mount Vernon — SPI (Science Play-Space Initiative) located at 227 S. Main Street will receive a visit from well-known fairy tale characters from the musical “Into the Woods,” on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m.
Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and others from the upcoming Mount Vernon Players presentation of Stephen Sondheim’s Tony-award winning musical, “Into the Woods” will visit the children and parents at SPI headquarters and share a mix of songs from the show and with SPI personnel, science learning associated with things found in the woods.
The Mount Vernon Players are starting their celebration of 50 years serving Knox County as the oldest performing arts group with one of the area’s newest and fun-filled learning experience organizations in a joint effort to have fun and a fascinating time, learning about things you might not know about the woods. Meet some of the wonderful characters you’ve read about in stories but have never had the chance to meet in person.
