To enter our contest, just send no more than
2 photos of your spring flower garden along with official
entry form to the Mount
Vernon News “Flower Garden Contest,” 18 East Vine Street, Mount Vernon,
Ohio 43050 by June 25, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. A panel of judges will visit finalists’ homes
the week of July 9th - July13th to determine the top prize winners. The winners
will be announced in the Mount Vernon News at a later date.
The winning contestants receive $150, $100, and $50 in gift certificates
for first, second and third places. Gardens are judged on originality, variety,
care, maintenance and overall visual appeal. Only Those gardens that have been
planted and tended by the people who live in the home are acceptable. Gardeners
may not enter the contest if their gardens were professionally planted or professionally
maintained.
The winners’ names and photos of the award-winning gardens will appear
in the Mount Vernon News.
Employees of the Mount Vernon News and sponsoring businesses are not eligible
to participate in this contest.
