Mount Vernon

Mount Vernon will be celebrating Independence Day with fireworks at Memorial Park, beginning at dusk on Friday, July 1; rain date is Friday, July 8.

Centerburg

The Heart of Ohio USA Days Festival will be Wednesday through Saturday, June 22-25. Wednesday through Friday there will be food, rides and entertainment. The Little Miss Liberty and Little Uncle Sammy pageant will be Thursday at 7 p.m. On Friday, there will a cruise-in, Heart of Oh-Idol and Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods. Saturday’s parade will begin at 11 a.m. and The British Invasion will headline at 8 p.m., followed by a fireworks display.

Utica

Utica’s Fourth of July Celebration will be Sunday and Monday, July 3-4, in South End Park at the intersection of Ohio 13 and U.S. 62. Opening ceremonies on Sunday will be at 4 p.m., followed by the Little Miss Firecracker and Master Rocket contest at 4:15. Utica Idol will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Also at 5 p.m., there will be a horse pull, midway opening and antique tractor display. From 7 to 9 p.m., the Sterling Bluegrass Boys will perform. On Monday, from noon to 5 p.m. there will be a car show and antique tractor display. From 5 to 7 p.m., Utica Idol will wrap up, and from 7 to 9, Bryan Lewis and Band will perform. A fireworks display will be at 9:45 p.m. on Monday.

Apple Valley

A Fourth of July Celebration will be held Saturday, July 2, at the Apple Valley Clubhouse for property owners and their guests. Fireworks will begin at dusk; rain date is Sunday, July 3.

Fredericktown

On Monday, July 4, activities will be held at Fredericktown Community Park. The hometown celebration will include softball, bingo, free swimming, live music by Southbound Band in the evening, followed by a fireworks display at 10 p.m.

Gambier

Festivities will begin Monday, July 4, with a parade at 11 a.m. starting at Farr Hall, where the Citizen of the Year will be announced. A potluck picnic at the Community Center will follow the parade. There will also be games, contests and prizes for all ages.
