Mabel R. Cline
FREDERICKTOWN — Mabel R. Cline, 87, of Fifth Street, Fredericktown, passed away Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, at Whispering Hills Care Center.

She was born Nov. 3, 1916, in Knox County to Harry and Jenny (Beck) Sharp. She was a member of the Covenant Christian Church of God and the Retired Nurses Association.

She is survived by three sons, Carroll (Joanna) Hinger of Mount Vernon, Harry “Skip” (Mary) Hinger of Lima and Tom (Sharon) Hinger of Fredericktown; a daughter-in-law, Linda Hinger; four stepsons, Richard (Janet) Cline of Bourbonnaise, Ill., Robert (Barbara) Cline of Harrod, Ralph (Nancy) Cline of Mount Vernon and Roger Cline of Jacksonville, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Carmen (Eugene) Rice of Danville and Sarah DiMarco of Mount Vernon; 29 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter Sharp of Oklahoma; a sister, Ann (Tom) Strong of Bellville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Everett Cline; a son, William Hinger; a daughter, Jean Yocum; three brothers, Raymond Sharp, Charles Sharp and Stanley Sharp; a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Horn; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, where funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. Dr. Paul Dove will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.

Delaphine T. Russell
FOREST — Delaphine Tressa “Peanie” Russell, 75, of West Smith Street, Forest, died Feb. 5, 2004, at the Fairhaven Community Nursing Home in Upper Sandusky.

She was born Jan. 1, 1929, in Reed City, Mich., to Perry Foster and Teressa (Rogers) Herring Sr. She owned and operated E&C Well Service with her late husband, Ernest M. Russell, whom she married April 18, 1947, he died Dec. 4, 1999.

She is survived by a son, Chuck (Mona) Russell of Warsaw; a daughter, Carol (Jack) Stewart of Forest; four sisters, Ivoline Todd of Reed City, Mich., Mary Spaugh of Pairs, Mich., Deloris (Robert) Wood of Clovis, N.M., and Sharon Marcellus of Slottville, Mich.; four brothers, Perry Herring of Elkhart, Ind., Dale (Treva) Herring of Reed City, Mich., Norman (Karen) Herring of Cadillac, Mich., and Larry (Joan) Herring of Reed City, Mich.; three grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home, 412 E. Main St., Warsaw, where funeral will follow at 8 p.m. Pastor Michael Hannah will officiate. Graveside service will be at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Forest.

Bill G. Smith
WARSAW — William “Bill” Gale Smith, 83, of County Road 49, Warsaw, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Feb. 4, 1921, in Marietta to Fred and Martha (Yost) Smith. In 1949, he was married to Jaqueline Ann Lawson. He was a retired oil and water well driller and served in the Army Air Corps in World War II.

In addition to his wife of 54 years, Jaqueline, he is survived by a son, Steve of Delaware; two grandsons, Emerson and Zane Smith of Worthington; and two granddaughters, Kristy and Andrea of Illinois and Florida.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Michael G. Smith.

A graveside service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Blissfield Cemetery. The Rev. Ron Davis will officiate. The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling the arrangements.
