Chad D. Allen
MOUNT VERNON — Chad Daniel Allen, 17, of Mount Vernon went home to be with his Lord on Feb. 12, 2004, at Children’s Hospital in Columbus.

Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Church at Chapel Hill where the funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. The North-Dilley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A full obituary will appear in Saturday’s edition of the Mount Vernon News.

Margaret George
MOUNT VERNON — Margaret (Bricker) George, 83, of Mount Vernon passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at the Country Court Nursing Center.

She was born April 11, 1920, in Mount Vernon, the daughter of Cleveland G. and Marie (Paige) Bricker. Margaret spent most of her married life in Green Valley until moving to Mount Vernon in 1980. She was a member of the Gay Street United Methodist Church. She was an avid gardener and belonged to the Green Valley Garden Club and had won numerous awards at the Knox County Fair.

Margaret is survived by a son, Greg L. George of Chillicothe; three daughters, Barbara (Robert) Blaisdell of Fredericktown, Kay (Edward) Hostetler of Mansfield and Connie (Daniel) McKeever of Mount Vernon; three grandchildren, Deborah (Steve) Williams, Margaret (Craig) Alexander and Scott Blaisdell; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence W. “Jack” George; a brother, Carroll P. Bricker; and two sisters, Kathryn McFeeley and Isabel Dowdell Doup.

Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Mound View Cemetery.

Beverly A. Taylor
MOUNT GILEAD — Beverly A. (Gunn) Taylor, 66, of Mount Gilead died Feb. 11, 2004, in Morrow County Hospital.

Beverly was born April 30, 1937, in East Chicago, Ill., to John L. and Gwendolyn (Sisson) Gunn. She received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and a master’s degree from The Ohio State University. At the age of 58 she received her R.N. degree from Marion Technical College. She assisted her husband, Dr. William M. Taylor, for 13 years at the Village Veterinary Clinic. She later was employed as a nurse by Woodside Village Care Center in Mount Gilead.

In addition to her mother, Gwendolyn Gunn Naragon of Avon Park, Fla., she is survived by her husband; a son, Luke Taylor of Minneapolis, Minn.; a daughter, Susan Taylor of Minneapolis, Minn.; a foster son, Matthew Bartholomew of Haram, Ga.; two brothers, David Gunn of Elkhart, Ind., and Gunn Gunn of Indianapolis, Ind.; and a sister, Sharon Gurkin of Columbus.

The Revs. Dennis Braun and Jan Dykstra will celebrate her life and Christian faith in a memorial service Saturday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. The Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Gilead is in charge of arrangements.

Kent Van Winkle
BLADENSBURG — Kent Van Winkle, 86, of Bladensburg died Feb. 12, 2004, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. The Harris-Dilley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Corean (Dillon) Akers Ziegler
FREDERICKTOWN — Corean Akers Ziegler, 77, of Fredericktown died Feb. 12, 2004, in the Morrow County Hospital Extensive Care Facility.

She was born Oct. 1, 1926, in Scuddy, Ky., to Isom and Luellen (Vernon) Dillon. She worked as an assembler for the M.A. Millers Co. in Libertyville, Ill., prior to moving to Fredericktown in 1966.

She is survived by a daughter, Doris (Jerry) Stevens of Fredericktown; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Francis Dillon of Hazard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Akers; brothers, Henry, Roy, Guy and Carl Dillon; and sisters, Callie Coots and Amanda Akers.

Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Gilead. The Rev. William Kirk will conduct funeral service Monday at 11 a.m. in the New Testament Baptist church, 5560 Ohio 95, Mount Gilead. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Chesterville.
