Jacey Blanton
MOUNT VERNON — Jacey Anna Lynn Jayne Blanton, infant daughter of Gerald Blanton and Amanda Baker, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, at Knox Community Hospital.

Besides her parents she is survived by her older brother, Riley M. Blanton; maternal grandparents, Randy and Jayne Peck of Mount Vernon; paternal grandparents, Roberta and Steven Smith of Mount Vernon; and maternal great-grandparents, Don and Faye Peck of Mount Vernon and James and Joann Webster of Newark.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandmothers, Isabelle Blanton, Ethel Parker, Rita Smith, Bernadine Peck and Judy Peck.

The family will observe private services. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Wayne L. Crider
MOUNT VERNON — Wayne L. Crider, 73, of Mount Vernon died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

He was born April 1, 1930, in Mount Vernon to Frank L. and Mary (Hawkins) Crider. Mr. Crider was a graduate of Danville High School and had spent his lifetime in the Knox County area. During the Korean War he served with the U.S. Army, 43rd Division, in Munich, Germany. He retired in 1988 from the American National Can Co. in Mount Vernon, where he had been employed for 39 years as a press operator. Mr. Crider was an avid Ohio State University sports fan and loved harness horse racing.

Surviving are his wife, Lee Ann (Tindall) Crider, whom he married Sept. 25, 1954; his sister-in-law, Marjorie Curry of Mount Vernon; three brothers-in-law, James Tindall of Saint Mary’s, Fla., Donald Tindall of Lexington and Thomas Reese of Danville; and 15 nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his twin brothers, Willard Crider and Willis Crider; and three sisters-in-law, Margaret Reese, Betty Crider and Maurine Crider.

Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where a rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon. The Rev. Ted Thomas will be celebrant. Burial, with military honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will be in Calvary Cemetery at Mount Vernon.

Zachary B. Ogden
FREDERICKTOWN — Zachary Bryce Ogden, 9, of Fredericktown died early Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, following an extended illness.

He was born April 11, 1994, at home near Chesterville. He was a fourth-grade student at Highland School. Zachary attended Pulaskiville Community Bible Church.

Zachary is survived by his mother, Dawn E. Ogden; maternal grandparents, William “Bob” and Patricia Ogden of Chesterville; uncles and aunts, Wayne (Sheba) Warwick of Marysville, Mike (Annette) McLaughlin of Fredericktown and Will (Rhonda) Ogden of Bucyrus; cousins, Lauren, Ashley, Tyler, Kristin, Molly, Alexis, Elizabeth, Sarah and Wesley; and great-aunts and great-uncles.

Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Craven Funeral Home in Mount Gilead. Pastors Marvin Gassman and Ned Reece will conduct funeral service in the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery at Chesterville.
