Lester A. Durbin He was born Nov. 10, 1919, in Mount Vernon to Roy and Venice (Snyder) Durbin. Lester was a member of the Morgan Grange, Knox County Farm Bureau, Knox County and Ohio Cattleman’s associations, and had served on the board of directors of the Mount Vernon Farmer’s Exchange and the Knox County Fair Board. Lester had also served as a 4-H adviser. He was also a member of Owl Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by his son, Dean (Wanda) Durbin of Mount Vernon; three daughters, Sandy Cline of Mount Vernon, Nancy (Bob) Hoovler of Wapakoneta and Kathy (Craig) Sutter of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandson; a brother, Ronald Durbin of Loudonville; and two sisters, Marilyn (Harold) Magers of Howard and Eleanor (Gordon) Laymon of Gambier. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Durbin; a son, Larry Durbin; a brother, Dale Durbin; and two sisters, Thelma Taylor and Dessie Shaffer. Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, where funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Robert Heizer will officiate. Burial will follow in Owl Creek Cemetery. Virginia Workman She was born Nov. 27, 1919, in Utica on the family farm to John and Lillian (Clutter) Chopson. She was a member of the Utica Church of Christ where she had taught Sunday school, Bible school and sang in the choir. She is survived by a son, Donald Workman of Utica; two daughters, Janice (Gene) North of Utica and Pamela Powell of Kenton; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Workman (1982); an infant grandson; and two brothers, Donald and Ralph Chopson. A memorial service will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Utica Church of Christ. A graveside service will be Monday at 1 p.m. in Bell Church Cemetery.
