Richard F. Bantum
WARSAW — Richard R. Bantum, 67, of 46 Edgewood Drive, Warsaw, died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at his residence.

He was born May 5, 1936, in Coshocton to Alex and Virginia (Fletcher) Bantum. He married Virginia A. Bordenkircher on Nov. 21, 1959. He served in the National Guard and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a foreman at the Clow Corp. shipping yard for 31 years, and retired as a security guard for Florida Power & Light in Port St. Lucie after 12 years. He was also a member of VFW Post 2040 Coshocton, Newcomerstown Elks Lodge 1555, the Coshocton County Sportsman’s Club, and was an avid deer hunter and card player.

He is survived by his mother of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; his wife, Virginia A. Bantum; a daughter, Margo (Terry) Garber of Canal Lewisville; a son, Mike (Charlene) Bantum of Stuart, Fla.; four grandchildren, Dan (Alyssa) Garber and Melissa Garber, both of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Joshua Bantum and Jason Bantum, both of Stuart, Fla.; one stepgrandson, Scotty of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; and two sisters, Carol (Ray) Sibert of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Sandra (Dave) Chapman of Lakeland, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Homer Blubaugh as celebrant. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in South Lawn Cemetery with graveside military rites by the Coshocton County Joint Veteran’s Council. The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Coshocton County, P.O. Box 1284, Coshocton 43812; and to Sacred Heart Church, 805 Main St., Coshocton 43812.

Francis Brockmeyer
MOUNT VERNON — Francis M. Brockmeyer, 90, of Mount Vernon passed away Monday, March 8, 2004, at Knox Community Hospital. The Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Faith P. Darling
ABERDEEN, N.C. — Faith (Poat) Darling, 82, of 160 Woodgreen Drive, Aberdeen, N.C., and formerly of Warsaw, died March 5, 2004, at the Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, N.C.

She was born Nov. 23, 1921, in Oregon, Ill., to Lawrence F. and Edna M. (Schneider) Poat. She was a retired medical transcriptionist from Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Fla. She attended Ashland College and was a member of the Montpelier Presbyterian Church in Wagram, N.C., and a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Warsaw. She was an ordained elder and deacon of the Presbyterian Church USA and a past worthy matron of the Warsaw OES.

She is survived by a daughter, Holly Russell of Aberdeen, N.C.; a son, Glenn Alan Darling of Parkersburg, W.Va.; four grandsons; and four great-granddaughters.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund R. Darling, whom she married in March 1945, he died in May 1986.

Funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with the Rev. John Russell officiating. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery at Warsaw with military graveside service conducted by the Coshocton County Joint Veterans Council. Visitation is Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.

Berdene Kaeser
MOUNT VERNON — Berdene Kaeser, 90, of Mount Vernon died Monday, March 8, 2004, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. The Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is in charge of arrangements.

Edith M. Smith
FREDERICKTOWN — Edith M. Smith, 76, of Highland Road, Fredericktown, died Monday afternoon, March 8, 2004, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus following a sudden illness. Funeral arrangements are pending with the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home.
