Charlotte Cline Alta L. Crowl She was born on the family farm in Berlin Township on Sept. 28, 1909, and graduated from Berlin High School in 1927. She co-owned and operated with her husband Crowl’s Grocery in Olive Green from 1932 to 1998. She was a member of Rural Chapel Methodist Church and Columbia Chapter 333 of the OES; member of the former Porter Grange and Rebekah Lodge 887 of Galena; and a charter member of the Sunbury Business Women’s Association. Surviving are children, Joan (Leo) Ulery of Ironton, and Kenneth Crowl, Jean Roy, Linda (Don) Kroninger and William J. Crowl, all of Sunbury; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert O. Ross of Worthington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald L. Crowl, on March 7, 1994; brothers, Dale, Afton, Leland, Russell and Donald; sisters, Jessie Weiss and Mildred Rae; a grandson; and one great-great-grandson. Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at 61, Sunbury, where funeral will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Dr. L. Sayre will officiate. Interment will be in Sunbury Memorial Park. Mary ‘Kathy’ Goodyear She was born Nov. 1, 1954, in Pontiac, Mich., to Herman and Sylvia (Ramey) Sparks, graduated from Big Walnut High School in 1972, and attended Columbus Business College. A homemaker and avid quilter, Kathy moved to Johnsville 16 years ago from the Delaware area. Her interest in genealogy occupied her time and lead to volunteer library work. She is survived by her husband, Carl “Gene” Goodyear, whom she married Feb. 20, 1981; two daughters, Jenny Rose Myers of Columbus and Kelly (Richard) Russell of Warren, Ark.; three grandchildren, Sabrina Lynn Myers, Catlin Russell and Justin Russell; her mother, Sylvia Sparks of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Margie (Jack) Lusby of Marengo and Bonnie (Paul) Armstrong of Mount Vernon; a brother, Charlie Sparks of Marengo; and nieces and nephews. Her father preceded her in death. The family will receive friends today from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Snyder Funeral Home, 2553 Lexington Ave., Mansfield, where the funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Marvin Haught will officiate. Kinney She was born May 1, 1931, in Pike County, Ind., to Gerald Smith and Bertha Adabelle (Boyd) Chadwick. She was a member of Fredericktown OES Chapter 100 and the Mount Vernon Garden Club. She is survived by two daughters, Paula (Richard) Smith of Mount Vernon and Bobbie Carter of Long Beach, Calif.; two sons, Herb (Shirley) Carter of Mount Vernon and James (Tamara) Kinney of Wapakoneta; three grandchildren, Pamela (Nate) Thompson of Columbus, Brenda (Kevin) Carpenter of Mount Vernon and Rene (Shane) Shimansky of Westerville; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth (Arthur) Burton of Del Ray Beach, Fla., and Mary (Larry) Carmen of Gahanna; and a brother, John Chadwick of Medford, Ore. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Bryce Kinney Sr.; and granddaughter, Amber Ilene Cline. Friends may call Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the North-Dilley Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. in Forest Cemetery with Mr. Steve Smith officiating.
