Donald S. Sovine
MOUNT VERNON — Donald S. Sovine, 81, of Westgate Park, Mount Vernon, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at SCCI Hospital in Mansfield, following complications after heart surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born July 11, 1923, in Putnam County, W.Va., to Gainor and Mamie (Arbaugh) Sovine. Donald moved his family to Mount Vernon in 1956. He retired in 1986 after 30 years of employment with Cooper Energy Services. Donald was a loving husband, father, and friend to many.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jean (Hodges) Sovine; five daughters, Rita (Ralph) Stuller, Connie Wood (Don) Tuggle, Bonnie Stewart, all of Mount Vernon, Pam (Denny) Young of Fredericktown and Karen (Randy) Johnson of Butler; two sons, Sam (Tina) Sovine and Dan Sovine, both of Mount Vernon; four sisters, Ollielea Ward, Vola Wright, Jessie (Lawrence) Gillespie, all of West Virginia, and Loretta Young of Mount Vernon; a brother, Ed (Wanda) Sovine of Ravenna; 23 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Dwight Sovine and Eddie Sovine; three sisters, Alvada Sovine, Florence VanNoy and Virginia Fletcher; and a brother, Delmar Sovine.
Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, where a funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. A funeral service will also be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Chapman Funeral Home in Hurricane, W.Va., where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will be in Hodges Cemetery in West Virginia.

Ruth A. Wright
COSHOCTON — Ruth A. Wright, 92, of Coshocton died at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 15, 1912, in New Castle Township, Coshocton County, she was the daughter of James and Karen (Carpenter) Allen. She attended New Castle School and was a chief inspector at the former Firestone Co. during World War II when the plant manufactured bulletproof tanks for the war effort. She also was employed by General Electric as an inspector in various departments for the first five years the factory had begun operation in Coshocton. She was a 75-year member of Central Christian Church.
Surviving are a son, Timothy C. (Diane) Wright of Coshocton; a daughter, Alice C. Wright of Warsaw and special friends Ken and Kurt Shriver of Coshocton; a grandson, Timothy Wright II and special friend Brandy Burns of Coshocton; a granddaughter, Stephanie Alica Wright and fiancé Brad Rollison of Perrysburg; and several nieces and nephews.
On March 28, 1936, she married Charles R. Wright, who preceded her in death March 28, 2004. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rebecca Wright; and 15 brothers and sisters.
A graveside service will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at New Castle Cemetery, with the Rev. Philip H. Hunt officiating. The Free Funeral Home, Coshocton, assisted the family with arrangements.
