MOUNT VERNON — Forrest D. Antill Sr., 79, of Mount Vernon died Wednesday morning, March 2, 2005, at Knox Community Hospital. The North-Dilley Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Phyllis A. Copland
MESA, Ariz. — Phyllis Ann (Bair) Copland passed away Feb. 25, 2005, in Mesa, Ariz.

Phyllis was born Oct. 21, 1918, in Mount Vernon to Harold and Olive Bair. She married James G. Copland in 1940; and the couple moved to Arizona in 1943, making their home in Phoenix until Jim’s death in 1976. Phyllis later resided in Mesa and Tempe, Ariz., but most recently found great joy and excitement as a resident of the Arizona Pioneers’ Home in Prescott, Ariz.

She is survived by two brothers, Harold Roger (Anita) Bair of Gahanna and Harry “Sonny” (Peg) Bair of Apache Junction, Ariz.; three sons, Jim (Pam) Copland of Tempe and Prescott, Ariz., Craig Copland of Newport Beach, Calif., and Westpoint, Conn.; and Eric (Darlene) Copland of Battle Creek, Mich.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one grandchild.

Services were held the morning of Feb. 28, 2005, at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85257.

Larry ‘Joe’ Dooley
MOUNT VERNON — Larry “Joe” Dooley, 31, of Columbus Road, Mount Vernon, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

He was born on Jan. 25, 1974, in Zanesville to Larry and Maria (Ramos) Dooley. Larry enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He had been employed with the Mauser Co. of Mount Vernon.

He is survived by his loving wife of eight years, Annette (Spence) Dooley; six children, Jayd, Logan, Christian, Roman, Simon and Shelby; his mother; two brothers, Jason (Lisa) Dooley and Carmello Dooley, both of Zanesville; a sister, Jessica Dooley of Zanesville; mother- and father-in-law, Richard and Suzanne Spence; brothers-in-law, Brad (Alice) Spence and Eric (Alex) Spence; sister-in-law, Mary (Ken) Goble; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; and his favorite uncle, Joe Ramos.

Friends may call Friday from noon to 2 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Merlyn Jones officiating.

Forrest C. Eley
HOWARD — Forrest Clifton Eley, 80, of Howard passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

He was born March 8, 1924, in Newark to Forrest W. and Jennie (Stall) Eley. He was educated in the Gambier school system and in the fall of 1942 started classes at Kenyon College. On Dec. 1, 1942, he enlisted in the Army and had basic training at Fort Bragg, N.C. After basic training, he was sent to the Army Specialized Training Program at North Carolina State University at Raleigh. When the program was disbanded, he was sent to Camp Shelby, Miss., where he was assigned to Battery C, 880th Field Artillery Battalion of the 69th Infantry Division. He was a sergeant in an artillery forward observe party as the division fought through Belgium, Luxemburg and Germany. He was awarded the Bronze Star for “bravery, skill and initiative.” After discharge, he returned to Kenyon where he graduated in 1949. During his senior year, he married Katherine Ann Murphy of Mansfield. After graduation, he joined George A. Hormel and Co. of Austin, Minn., and worked in sales in Louisville, Ky., and Huntington, W.Va. In 1966, he later joined Bogen, Bogen and Bogen Heating and Air Conditioning (later Airtron Inc.) in Columbus. He worked in sales and engineering until his retirement in 1990. In 2002, he and Katherine moved to Apple Valley.

He was a member of Ohio Lodge 199, Valley of Columbus Scottish Rite, Aladdin Shrine, Baldwin Shrine Club, Advent Lutheran Church in Columbus and was a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4027.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Katherine (Murphy) Eley; two sons, David Eley of Columbus and Daniel (Susan) Eley of Higganum, Conn.; two daughters, Carolyn (Patrick) Eley-Durbin of Clemmons, N.C., and Amy (Frank) Fiamingo of Johnstown; eight grandchildren, Tirstan, Zachary, Michael, Thomas (Diane), Dory, Matthew, Sean and Taylor.

Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, where a Masonic service will be at 7 p.m. A funeral will be at the funeral home on Friday at 2 p.m., where friends may call one hour prior. Burial with military honors provided by Knox County Joint Veterans Council will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Gambier.

Larry J. Ringwalt
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Larry James Ringwalt, 46, of Sacramento, Calif., and formerly of Danville, died Feb. 24, 2005, in an automobile accident.

He was born Oct. 8, 1958, in Mount Vernon to James L. and Kay M. (Mizer) Ringwalt. He was a heavy equipment operator for the power company in California.

In addition to his parents of Danville he is survived by a daughter, Amber Ringwalt of Mount Vernon; a son, Tyler Ringwalt of Rohnert Park, Calif.; a sister, Diana (Jack) Blue of Danville; a brother, Neil (Vikki) Ringwalt of Farwell, Mich.; two grandchildren, Logan and Marcus of Mount Vernon; three nieces; two nephews; and special friends, Grady and Donna Prince.

The funeral will be Friday, March 4, at 11 a.m. at the Danville Church of Christ, with the Rev. Doug Sweet officiating. Burial will be in Workman Cemetery at Danville. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville and on Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.
