WALHONDING — Mary M. Dickerson, 94, of Walhonding died March 6, 2005, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon. The Harris-Dilley Funeral Home at Bladensburg is in charge of arrangements.

Daniel T. Fitch
COSHOCTON — Daniel Todd Fitch, 43, of 1411 Spring St., Coshocton, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, in an automobile accident.

He was born May 24, 1961, in Coshocton to Raymond E. and Joan (Bowers) Fitch. He was owner and operator of Fitch Allstate Insurance Agency in Coshocton. He was a 1979 graduate of Green High School in Uniontown, and a 1983 graduate of the Mount Vernon Nazarene College, where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He was a member of the Coshocton Elks Lodge and he loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and hanging out with his children.

He is survived by his parents, Raymond and Joan Fitch, son, Adam Reed Fitch, and a daughter, Kelby Lynn Fitch, all of Coshocton; three brothers, Douglas (Pam) Fitch of Coshocton, David (Jerri) Fitch of Walhonding and Jamie (Lisa) Fitch of Haymarket, Va.; his special girlfriend, Kristy L. Turner, and a special little friend, Lyric, both of Coshocton; his former wife, Bambi Fitch of Coshocton; six nephews, six nieces; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a sister and his grandparents.

A funeral service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw. The Rev. Bruce Tully will officiate. Burial will be Prairie Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lester M. Lee
NEWARK — A funeral service for Lester M. Lee, 69, of Newark will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, Newark, with Pastors Tom and Carol Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Chapel Cemetery. Military service will be conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Mr. Lee, a sales rep for Bowerston Shale Co., died March 4, 2005, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 19, 1935, in Aneta, N.D., to Guy and Cora (Tande) Lee. Mr. Lee was a 1953 graduate of Kloten High School, and a 1982 graduate of Park College. He served 26 1/2 years in the U.S. Air Force with a tour of duty in the Vietnam War. He retired as an SM sergeant with his last duty at the Newark Air Force Base. Lester was former president of the Perry Township Trustees, a former member of the Licking Valley School Board, past president of the Licking Valley Junior High PTA and High School PTA. He also held the president’s seat of the Licking County Athletic Boosters.

He was a BIA member, a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Aladdin Shrine Temple, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Rocky Fork First Church of God. He was involved with the local Republican Party. He was a former sports announcer for Licking Valley basketball and football games, and was a former announcer for the Muskingum County Speedway. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the University of Kentucky basketball program. Lester will always be remembered by his slogan, “If you like what you see, buy your brick from Lester Lee.”

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Shirley A. (Nethers) Lee; two sons, Scott (Lori) Lee of Newark and Stuart (Lori) Lee of Zanesville; grandchildren, Dalton and Derek Lee, both of Newark, and Conner and Emma Lee, both of Zanesville; uncle, Adolph Lee of Aneta, N.D.; two aunts; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Ruth Graham Ressler
MOUNT VERNON — Ruth Elizabeth Graham Ressler, 79, of Yauger Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Whispering Hills Care Center in Mount Vernon.

She was born Dec. 26, 1925, in Barnesville to William and Mary (Blackburn) Price. Mrs. Ressler graduated from Barnesville High School and had attended Marietta College. She was a member of the Grace Brethren Church of Mount Vernon.

She is survived by a son, William Graham of Mount Vernon; a daughter, Lisa (Robert) Valey of Wooster; a stepson, Richard (Doris) Ressler of Mount Vernon; a stepdaughter, Ila Vay (J.C.) Webb of Mount Vernon; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marilyn (Walter) Maleski of Barnesville.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon Graham; second husband, John Thomas; third husband, Everett Ressler; and two daughters, Deborah Graham and Dawn Maxwell.

Lake VanWinkle
MOUNT VERNON — Lake VanWinkle, 85, of Adamson Street, Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2005, at the MedCentral Hospital in Mansfield.

He was born Feb. 6, 1920, in Knox County, son to Earl and Margaret (Mossholder) VanWinkle. Mr. VanWinkle was employed at the Continental Can Co., from which he retired in 1982, where he worked as a printer for 36 years. He was a member of the AMVETS Post 95; the VFW Post 4027; The Station Break, where he enjoyed singing in the choir; and he faithfully attended the Bladensburg Presbyterian Church. He was an avid pool player and he also loved to walk on the Kokosing Gap Trail. He was a veteran serving in the Army during World War II in the European Theatre of war, where he was awarded six Bronze Stars and Good Conduct Medal.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Edna (Coakley) VanWinkle; a son, Thomas (Dottie) VanWinkle of Bladensburg; four daughters, Sherry (Charles) Beatty of Walhonding, Sue VanWinkle of Springfield, Lou Farmer and Kay (Jim) Gump, both of Mount Vernon; 14 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers, Neil (Geneva) VanWinkle of Danville and Owen (Mary) VanWinkle of Battle Creek, Mich.; and four nieces.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Amy Gump and Michael Farmer; and four brothers, Clay, Kent, Carl and Hugh VanWinkle.

Friends may call Wednesday, March 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home; where a service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial, with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will follow in Bladensburg Cemetery.

MOUNT VERNON — Luke Sky Welker, newborn infant, died March 4, 2005, at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville.

He is survived by his parents, Natalie J. (Duffield) and Gary D. Welker of Mount Vernon; brother, Zak Welker, maternal grandmother, Char Duffield, paternal grandmother, Sandy Welker, uncle, Thomas Duffield, and James Robbins, aunt Kelly Welker, cousin, Jordan Welker, all of Mount Vernon; and many great-aunts and uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Scott J. Duffield; paternal grandfather, Ralph E. Welker; and uncle, Scott W. Duffield.
