Leon W. Appel
NEW ALBANY — Pastor Leon W. Appel, 83, died Jan. 1, 2006, at New Albany
Gardens and Care Center.
A graduate of Capital University and Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, he retired from Trinity Lutheran Seminary as director of recruitment and development. He was a former resident of Apple Valley and member of Faith Lutheran Church.
He is survived by children, David (Alice) Appel, Diane (Thomas) Bernlohr, Dennis Appel, Duane (Tamara) Appel, Debra Appel and Doreen Appel; grandchildren; sisters; brothers; brother-in-law; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Suzanne L. Appel; and grandson, Jacob Aaron Appel.
Family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, and one hour prior to funeral service. Funeral service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Gloria Dei Worship Center at Trinity Lutheran Seminary, 2199 E. Main St., Columbus, OH 43209. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Columbus.

Lucille E. Reynolds
SUNBURY — Lucille E. Reynolds, 81, of Sunbury passed away early Wednesday,
Jan. 4, 2006, at her home.
She was born Oct. 14, 1924, in Marengo to the late Homer and Ida (Stopher) Bronson. A graduate of Marengo High School Class of 1943, she was a lifelong area resident.
She is survived by a son, Jim Reynolds of Marengo; grandson, Jared (Renee) Reynolds of Sunbury; great-grandsons, Logan, Austin and Colton; brothers, Robert of Mount Gilead, Homer of Marion and Teddy Bronson of Sunbury; and sisters, Dorothy Bellamy of Ashley, Joyce Whitt of Marengo and Linda Newell of Ashville, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Linden W. Reynolds, on Feb. 26, 2004; a brother, Bernie Bronson; and sisters, Betty Bronson, Virginia Mitchell and Mary Colewell.
Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at Ohio 61, Sunbury, where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. Pastor John C. Brock will officiate and interment will be in Marengo Cemetery.

Harry M. Ritter Jr.
BELLVILLE — Harry M. Ritter Jr., 86, of Mill Road, Bellville, passed away
Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, at the Lexington Court Nursing Home.
He was born Aug. 13, 1919, in Winooski, Vt., to the late Harry and Mary (Desautels) Ritter Sr. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS John P. Gray during World War II. Harry worked at Wade and Gatton Nursery, owned and operated Ritter Landscaping in Bellville before retiring from Thermodisc in Mansfield. He was a former member of the Irvin Hiskey Post 535 of the American Legion and the AMVETS, both of Bellville. Harry served as a volunteer for the Bellville Jefferson Township Fire Department. He enjoyed nothing more than spending quality time with his loving family. Although Harry could have lived anywhere after retirement, he always remarked there was nowhere he would rather be than his beloved home of Bellville, Ohio.
He is survived by his loving family, his wife, Katherine “Kate” (Tormaschy) Ritter; a daughter, Gerri (David) Meeks of Bellville; loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Tecca (Kevin) Harris of Lexington, Ty (Darlene) Meeks of Westerville, McKenzie Harris, Hannah Harris, Jared Harris, Taylor Meeks and Adam Meeks. A sister, Arlene Bixler of Columbus, sister-in-law, Lois Ritter of Bellville and numerous nieces and nephews, also survive him.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, John Thomas Ritter, David C. Ritter and Richard Ritter; and three sisters, Gladys (Peg) Esselburn, Rose Schafer and Jean Stewart.
Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Bellville, where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Randy Miller officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Irvin Hiskey Post of the American Legion will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
