Rosetta ‘Rosie’ Newmeyer
MOUNT VERNON — Rosetta “Rosie” Joy Newmeyer, 5-year-old
daughter of Helen (Rose) Newmeyer went to be with Jesus on Jan. 13, 2004,
following an illness of several months.
She was born Oct. 20, 1998, and had been a Mount Vernon resident for most of her life. Rosie was active in YMCA gymnastics and in youth activities at Faith Baptist Church including the children’s choir, the Olympians Club Gopher Class and a member of the Knox County Christian Home School Association.
In addition to her mother she is survived by two brothers, Derrick and Colton Newmeyer, both at home; her maternal grandparents, Wilfred and Helen Rose of Loudonville, Ohio; two aunts; an uncle; several cousins; and her father, Rick Newmeyer.
Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the church. The Rev. Merlyn Jones will officiate and burial will follow in Bird Cemetery. The Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
