Anna ‘Pat’ Davis
NEWARK — Anna L. “Pat” Davis, 92, of Newark passed away Monday,
Jan. 26, 2004.
She is survived by a daughter, Janice Widrig of Mount Vernon; 14 grandchildren;
26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence W. Davis; three sons; a son-in-law, Henry E. Widrig; and 13 brothers and sisters.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Newark Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Home, 59 N. Fifth St., where funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. Pastors Christine Widrig and Bob Beyer will officiate. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Evelyn L. Dunlap
MOUNT VERNON — Evelyn L. Dunlap, 97, of The Beech Tree Apartments, Mount
Vernon, passed away Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at Country Club Retirement Campus.
She was born June 9, 1906, in Mount Vernon to Harry Burton and Lily Dale (Brokaw) Pursel. Mrs. Dunlap worked as a Dictaphone supervisor for Continental Can Co., was a member of the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, and was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School Class of 1925. She loved to knit and play cards.
She is survived by her son, Richard Davis of Travares, Fla.;
daughters, Margaret (Richard) Abbott of Upper Sandusky, Annabelle (Al) Levenson
of Mount Vernon and Joann Brown of Golden Valley, Ariz.; stepson, Joe Dunlap of
Columbus; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren;
and two stepgrandchildren.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Dunlap; a brother,
Harry Pursel; a sister, Roberta Moore; infant son, Robert Reed Davis; and a stepgrandson,
Joe Dunlap.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home. The family will observe private service at a later date.

Evelyn Mills
UTICA — Evelyn Mills, 91, of Utica died Jan. 26, 2004, at the home of her
daughter.
She was born Dec. 18, 1912, in Licking County to David A. and Sarah E. (Rine) Rine. She was retired from North Fork Schools. She was a member of the St. Louisville Christian Church and attended Bell Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Terry) Martin of Utica; a sister-in-law, Ruth Raschka of Boca Ratan, Fla.; four nephews, Ronald Rine of Apollo Beach, Fla., Gary Rine of Dawsonville, Ga., Charles LeFever of Margate, Fla., and Don Watkins of Boca Ratan, Fla.; and one niece, Janice Rice of Johnstown.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her
husband, Wayne Mills, who died April 15, 1978; four brothers, Ora, Harry, Verne
and Kenneth Rine; four sisters, Zella Simpson, Grace Bebout, Louise Bebout and
Ethel Rine; ad two nephews, Guy and Paul Rine.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Law-Baker Funeral Home
in Utica, where funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. Don Allen, minister, will
officiate. Burial will follow in Bell Cemetery.

Hazel Fern Phillips
LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Hazel Fern Phillips, 91, of Las Vegas, Nev., died Saturday,
Jan. 24, 2004, at the Desert Lane Care Center in Las Vegas. She was a former resident
of Mount Vernon.
The Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is in charge of arrangements.
