Kaye Clippinger
MOUNT VERNON — Kaye E. Clippinger, 79, of Mount Vernon died March 24, 2004,
at Mount Carmel Hospital West at Columbus.
She was born March 18, 1925, at Johnstown to Homer and Blanche (Mitchell) Gorley. She co-owned Clippinger Pest Control along with her husband, Kenneth Clippinger, whom she married Sept. 12, 1944. She was a 45-year member of Milford Church of Christ, and was a member of the Women in Touch and Youth Group of the church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Richard (Kathy) Clippinger of Upper Sandusky; two daughters, Judy (Lonnie) Higgins of Mount Vernon and Sharon (Gary) Wiseman of Waynesville; daughter-in-law, Pat Clippinger of Centerburg; grandchildren, Todd and Rita Clippinger of Billings, Mont., Kim and Travis Jordan of Wadsworth, Colby and Angie Clippinger of Centerburg, Carrie and Ron Jones of Fresno, Ohio, Lonnie and Tonya Higgins of Hanover, and Garret Wiseman of Waynesville; great-grandchildren, Shelby Holbert, Loni Marie Higgins, Logan Higgins, Austin and Aubrey Clippinger, and Alexis Jordan; two stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and brothers, Homer Gorley Jr. and John (Nancy) Gorley, both of Mount Vernon.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brother, Donald Gorley; sisters, Floretta McCament, Maxine Armbruster, Shirley Denuit and Mary Lou Brown.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica. The funeral will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Milford Church of Christ, with Pastors Larry Hiles, Russ Waddell and Darin Pratt officiating. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery.

Mary Jo Deem
MOUNT VERNON — Mary Jo Deem, 75, of Mount Vernon died March 24, 2004, at
The Laurels of Mount Vernon.
She was born May 2, 1928, in Mount Vernon to Dale and Elsie (Hall) Porter. She was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon (David) Koch of Chillicothe and Carole (Lynn) Miller of Howard; two sons, Michael (Debbie) Deem of Mount Vernon and Samuel Deem of Mount Vernon; 11 grandchildren; and one brother, Raymond Leach of Florida.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde D. “Dynamite” Deem, in 1989; and a sister, Phyllis Van Winkle.
Friends may call Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. in the North-Dilley Funeral Home. The family will observe private graveside services at a later date.
Genevieve Laymon
CENTERBURG — Genevieve Laymon, 99, of Centerburg died March 25, 2004, at
the Ohio Eastern Star Home at Mount Vernon.
She was a member of Centerburg Church of Christ and Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by daughter, Freda Wilson-Simpson of Newark; grandson, Jeff (Sio)
Wilson of California.
She was preceded in death by he husband, Freel A. Laymon; and a son, Herbert.
Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral
Home, 49 W. Church St., Centerburg. Service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the
Centerburg Church of Christ, 3830 S. Columbus Road, Centerburg, where friends
may call one hour prior to the service. Roger Crego, minister, will officiate.
Interment will be in Eastview Cemetery. Eastern Star service will be Saturday at 10:45 a.m.
