Ronald L. Perkins
JOHNSTOWN — Ronald L. Perkins, 60, of Crossing Place, Johnstown, passed
away Monday March 29, 2004, at his home.
He was born Oct. 25, 1943, in Columbus to Gerald “Sam” and Nellie (White) Perkins. Mr. Perkins owned and operated Harmon Core Drilling in Granville. He was an avid golfer and was a member of leagues at Wyandot and Willow Run golf courses. Mr. Perkins raced motorcycles and is in the American Motorcycle Association Hall of Fame. He also attended the Vine Street Church of God in Mount Vernon.
He is survived by his loving wife, April (Colwill) Perkins;
a son, Bradney (Traci) Perkins of Wilmington; a daughter, Brigett Perkins-Mann
of Portland, Ore.; two stepsons, Troy (Angela) Peugh of Delaware and Trent (Kathy)
Peugh of Reynoldsburg; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Saundra Doty of Florida; a
niece, Lisa (Dave) Solomon; a nephew, Jake Doty Jr.; and a great-niece, Dani Solomon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home,
where funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors provided
by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will follow in Lock Cemetery.

Ruth Rhodes
WOOSTER — Ruth (McManis) Rhodes, 95, of Wooster died Saturday, March 27,
2004, in Wayne Manor.
She was born Feb. 17, 1909, in Mount Vernon, the daughter of Judson and Minnie (Hutchison) McManis. She retired in 1974 after 19 years from the Wayne County engineers office, where she was secretary to the county engineer. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, the Wooster Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and the Wimaudais.
Surviving are a son, John Lewis Rhodes of Paris, France; a nephew, Stephen Rhodes of Wooster; and four grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Rhodes, in 1954, whom she married Dec. 29, 1928; a daughter, Joan Durbin, in 1983; brothers, Carl and Paul McManis; and sisters, Grace Griffin and Eleanor McLarnan.
Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, where Eastern Star Memorial Service will precede at 6:45 p.m. Graveside service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Wooster Cemetery. The Rev. Glenn Royer will officiate.
