MOUNT GILEAD — Gerald D. Martin, 58, of Mount Gilead died Sept. 14, 2004,
at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
He was born June 26, 1946, in Mansfield, son of Forest D. and Alta M. (Shively) Martin and had been a Knox County resident for most of his life.
He is survived by his mother. His father preceded him in death.

Ruth E. McMillan
MOUNT VERNON — Ruth E. McMillan, 75, of Yauger Road, Mount Vernon, passed
away Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at the Country Court Nursing Home.
She was born Oct. 10, 1928, in Miletus Doddridge, W.Va., the daughter of Ferrill and Ruby (Carder) Romine. Ruth attended the First Christian Church and was employed as a clerk at Rite Aid.
She was the beloved mother of two daughters, Cathy (Mike) Tier of Mount Vernon and Cristie (Rush) Attaway of Boca Raton, Fla.; two sons, Brian McMillan of Tampa, Fla., and Jeffrey (Vicki) McMillan of Woodstock, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Julie (Trent) Long, John, Cassady, Kelsey, Joel, Jessica and Matt; one great-grandchild, Ryan; and two brothers, James Romine of Mount Vernon and Vaughn (Pat) Romine of Orlando, Fla.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Roy McMillan; and a sister, Patricia Thompson.
There will be no calling hours. The family will observe private memorial service at a later time. These arrangements are under the care and direction of Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home.

MOUNT VERNON — Vera P. McNutt, 78, of Mount Vernon died Sunday, Sept. 19,
