MOUNT VERNON — Elwin A. “Mac” McCluskey, 84, of Mount Vernon
died Nov. 12, 2004, at his residence.
Friends may call Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the North-Dilley Funeral Home.

Scott Shellenbarger
MOUNT VERNON — Byron Scott Shellenbarger, 36, of Mount Vernon died Nov.
8, 2004, at MedCentral Health System in Mansfield after a long good fight with
kidney failure.
Scott was born July 4, 1968, in Mount Vernon. He spent his lifetime in the Mount Vernon area and attended Mount Vernon High School.
He is being welcomed at heaven’s gate by his paternal grandparents, Robert Harry and Evelyn Shellenbarger; his father, Robert Wayne Shellenbarger; his maternal grandfathers, Charles W. Huffman and Clarence P. Stacey; his stepfather, Lawrence L. Ferris; and his favorite pets, Wrinkles and Thumper.
He unwillingly leaves behind his wife, Carolyn R. (Cockrell) Shellenbarger; daughter, Latashia N. Shellenbarger; his mother, Betty A. (Bryan) Tice; sisters, H. Suzi (Don) Endsley, Tami L. (Ernie Smith) Hite, Tina M. Fawcett, Stacie L. (Gus) Behrens; brother, Robert T. Huffman; grandmother, Helen B. Huffman; nieces, Cooki, Stacie, Jenee, Brandy, Nicky, Jenny, Amy, Tina, Sarah, Michelle, Cassandra, Nancy, Mindy, Kimmy, Angie, Jennifer and Jessica; nephews, Billy, David, Ricky, Chase, Robert, John, John Carter, Kenny, Joey, Jeremy, Travis, Jason, Stevie, Timmy and Brandon; and many aunts and uncles.
Friends may call Monday from noon to 2 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where funeral will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.

Ray J. Stringfellow
MOUNT VERNON — Ray J. Stringfellow, 85, of Mount Vernon died Thursday, Nov.
11, 2004, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon following a four-week illness.
Ray was born July 29, 1919, at Cavallo to Grover and Martha (Shrimplin) Stringfellow and had spent his lifetime in the Knox County area. He was retired from Cooper Energy Services in Mount Vernon. During World War II, Ray served with the U.S. Army in the Asiatic Pacific Theater of War and received three bronze stars and the victory medal. He was a member of the Newark Road Church of Christ in Mount Vernon.
Surviving are his son, Max (Joan) Stringfellow of Mount Vernon; granddaughter, Tara (Ronnie) Bond of Minneapolis, Minn.; his sister, Lou P. Elliott of Mount Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mabel F. (Barnes) Stringfellow; his sister, Faye Mowery; and his brother, Bruce Stringfellow.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. Evangelist Andy Jooste will officiate at graveside funeral service Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. The Knox County Joint Veterans Council will conduct military burial honors.
