John Beck Jr.
PERRYSVILLE — John Earl Beck Jr., 69, of Perrysville died early Wednesday
morning, Dec. 15, 2004, in Brethren Care Center, Ashland, following a long illness.
Mr. Beck was born Jan. 26, 1935, in Jamestown, the son of John E. and Elizabeth (Todd) Beck Sr. He was a 1954 graduate of Mount Vernon High School and had lived in the Perrysville area most of his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran and 26-year employee of Mansfield Plumbing Products, retiring in 1991. He loved to hunt and fish.
He is survived by his wife, Martha J. (Spears) Beck, whom he married March 12, 1966; two sons, Terry Beck of Mount Vernon and James Beck of Florida; a stepson, James (Dianne) Leibolt of Perrysville; a stepdaughter, Betty Sue Jones of Goosecreek, S.C.; four grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Ann and Claire Whitford of Waynesville.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Beck; and two sisters, Helen Griffin and Alice Hoover.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. in Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, with the Rev. Sharon Zurakowski officiating. Burial with military services conducted by the American Legion and VFW will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Martin Caldwell
HOWARD — Martin Caldwell, 66, of Wooster Road, Howard, passed away Wednesday,
Dec. 15, 2004, at MedCentral Health System at Mansfield.
Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service will be Sunday at 10 a.m. A private burial will take place following the service in Ashland Cemetery.

MOUNT VERNON — Edith C. Carter, 80, passed away Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004,
at Knox Community Hospital. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the
Snyder Funeral Homes in Mount Vernon.
Beatrice L. Linsley
MOUNT VERNON — Beatrice L. Linsley, 89, of Mount Vernon died Dec. 14, 2004,
at Apison, Tenn.
She was born Aug. 8, 1915, in Mount Vernon to O.C. and Flora (Frost) Punches. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Hill Church and the Dan Emmett Grange.
She is survived by a son, Ed (Becky) Linsley of Mount Vernon; two daughters, Marilyn (Herb) Goronzy and Sharon (Steven) Morris, both of Apison, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Linsley in 2004.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be Monday at Jan. 17, 2005, at 11 a.m. in Mound View Cemetery. The North-Dilley Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Jane Swisher
BELLVILLE — Jeanette L. “Jane” Swisher, 85, of Bellville died
Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, in Country Meadow Care Center following a long illness.
She was born May 25, 1919, in Bellville to E. William and Floy (Secrist) Maglott, and remained a lifelong Bellville resident. A homemaker, she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church; and enjoyed gardening, bowling and walking.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (William) Vollmer of Mansfield; four grandsons; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ann Culler of Mansfield and Martha A. (Donovan) Garber of North Canton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard D. Swisher; and her son, Richard M. Swisher Sr.
The family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Snyder Funeral Home, 81 Mill Road, Bellville, where the service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Douglas Pretorius will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
