Elaine B. Dayton
MARION — Elaine B. Dayton, 91, of Marion died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home at Mount Vernon. The North-Dilley Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Ruby M. Grubaugh
MOUNT VERNON — Ruby May Grubaugh, 94, of Mount Vernon died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at Whispering Hills Care Center.

She was born Aug. 31, 1910, in Knox County to Thomas P. and Martha (Coss) Blair. She was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Ruby retired from the Mount Vernon Rest Home, after serving as an LPN for 21 years. She was also a foster grandparent for five years with KNOCO.

She is survived by a son, Philip J. (Margaret I.) Grubaugh of Columbus; a daughter, Jean Ellen (Oscar) Jacquet of Apple Valley; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Grubaugh, in 1969; two sisters, Eva Hall and Dorothy P. Blair; and three brothers, Dale, Glen and Charles Blair.

Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the North-Dilley Funeral Home, where funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dale Sanford will officiate. Burial will be in Owl Creek Brethren Cemetery at Ankenytown.

W. ‘Ned’ Kilkenny
MOUNT VERNON — William Ned Kilkenny, 73, of Mount Vernon died March 20, 2005, at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville. The North-Dilley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Joan R. Kipp
MOUNT VERNON — Joan R. (Barry) Kipp, 77, of Sychar Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2005, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon.

She was born Jan. 10, 1928, in New York, N.Y., to William and Emma (Keller) Barry. Mrs. Kipp graduated from the Good Counsel College in White Plains, N.Y., and attended Fordham University Graduate School. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Mount Vernon. Mrs. Kipp was also a member and president of the Dan Emmett Kennel Club, National Brussels Griffon Club, American Brussels Griffon Association and organized the Airedale Terrier Breed Club of Nashville, Tenn. She had a special interest for all wildlife, included dogs for the handicap, rescue dog leagues and guide for the blind. Mrs. Kipp was a breeder of purebred dogs since 1935 and, along with her husband, bred many cats.

She is survived by a son, John C. Kipp Jr. of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren, Tyler John Kipp, Dylan Patrick Kipp, Tiarah Lynn Kipp and Katelyn Tanner; and many friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Kipp Sr.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. These services are under the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050.

Noel W. Reed
FREDERICKTOWN — Noel W. Reed, 73, of Columbus Road, Fredericktown, passed away Friday, March 18, 2005, at Knox Community Hospital.

He was born July 10, 1931, in Knox County to Guy and Gertrude (Robinson) Reed. Mr. Reed worked over 40 years for Hydraulic Press Manufacturing in Mount Gilead and farmed in Wayne Township of Knox County. He served as a Wayne Township trustee for nine years and was a past member of the Eagles of Mount Gilead.

He is survived by two sons, Jeff (Thelma Burns) Reed of Fredericktown and Mike (Candie) Reed-Carey of Riceville, Iowa; a daughter, Georgejana Foltz of Florence, Ky.; four grandchildren, Jessica Reed, Amanda Reed, Martin Reed and Nolan Foltz; and nine stepgrandchildren.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janet Raylene Reed; and a sister, Rosalie Baker.

A graveside service will be held at a later date. These arrangements are under the care and direction of the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown.
