Kristopher A. Casteel
MOUNT VERNON — Kristopher Allen Casteel, 25, of Mount Vernon died Saturday, March 26, 2005, in Columbus from injuries received in an apartment fire.

Kris was born Sept. 2, 1979, in Waynesville, Mo., and attended Coshocton High School. He moved to Mount Vernon in 2003 and had been employed as a cook at Friendly Restaurant in Mount Vernon.

Surviving are his mother, Sonya Wright of Mount Vernon; his father and stepmother, Keith and Connie Casteel of Newcomerstown; three brothers, Bill (Tarra) Duling of Coshocton, Justin Bean of Mount Vernon and Corey Casteel of Newcomerstown; two sisters, Kandi (James) Stewart of Mount Vernon and Jennifer Casteel of Newcomerstown; his maternal grandfather and stepgrandmother, Lloyd and Barb Duling of Apple Valley; and his paternal grandmother and stepgrandfather, Beverly and Walter Brenneman of Newcomerstown.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Charlene Bridges; and his paternal grandfather, Kenneth Casteel.

Friends and family may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, to share memories of Kristopher A. Casteel.

Larry L. Pipes
MOUNT VERNON — Larry L. Pipes, 56, of Mount Vernon died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at his residence following a five-month illness.

Larry was born Feb. 1, 1949, in Mount Vernon to Lloyd and Dorothy (Wagner) Pipes and had spent his lifetime in the Mount Vernon area. He was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and Franklin University. Larry was a self-employed general contractor.

He is survived by his wife, Penny (Beech) Pipes, whom he married June 15, 1974.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be no calling hours. The family will observe private graveside services in Mound View Cemetery at Mount Vernon. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.
