Doris M. Bryant
FREDERICKTOWN — Doris Marcella Bryant, 72, of Bryant Road, Fredericktown, passed away Friday, April 22, 2005, at her residence.

She was born Feb. 8, 1933, in Mount Vernon, the daughter of Adolph and Ruth Ellen (Hillier) Lober. She was a member of the Wayne Grange and the Wayne Grange Auxiliary, the Washington Club and the Golden Times Club. Doris dedicated her entire life to being a mom and grandma, and to providing quality and quantity time to her family.

She is survived by a son, Mitchell (Melanie) Bryant of Fredericktown; and a daughter, Ellen (Paul) Messenger of Caledonia; and three grandchildren, John (Melissa) Bryant, Michelle Bryant and Mitchell Messenger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Mitchell Bryant.

The family will observe private funeral services. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Snyder Funeral Home, Fredericktown.

Eugene ‘Gene’ Batson
PERRYSVILLE — Eugene A. “Gene” Batson, 80, of Perrysville died Thursday morning, April 21, 2005, at home.

Mr. Batson was born June 15, 1924, in Lyndhurst, living in the Mansfield area all of his life. He retired from Ideal Electric. He was a member of VFW Perrysville, American Legion Post 16, AMVETS of Hayesville, 40 et 8, Boy Scout Troop Leader 16 for many years, and also a member of the Power Squadron. Mr. Batson was an avid golfer, enjoyed wood carving, camping, sailing, travel, reading, and will be remembered for his wicked sense of humor. Mr. Batson was a veteran of World War II serving with the 101st Airborne as a paratrooper.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley (Bachmann) Batson; two daughters, Jeanette (Dave) Mutchler of Loudonville and Eileen (Andy) Campbell of Mount Vernon; a son-in-law, Larry Caudill of Bellville; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a daughter of his heart, Christine Crow of Mansfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Edith (Walters) Batson; and two daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Caudill, and Donna and Michael Wentworth.

Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, with 40 et 8 services at 5:30 p.m. Military graveside service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Mansfield Memorial Park, conducted by the Richland Joint Veterans Council.

Terrie Ann Fox
MOUNT VERNON — Terrie Ann Fox, 41, of Chester Street, Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, April 22, 2005, at MedCentral Hospital in Mansfield.

She was born May 20, 1963, in Mount Vernon, the daughter of the Rev. John Charles and Bonnie (Wallace) Wythe Jr. Terrie had worked as a nurse aide at the Mount Vernon Developmental Center and was a member of the Chester Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a daughter, Patricia Ann Marie Fox of Mount Vernon; a brother, Mike (Christina) Wythe of Mount Vernon; and two sisters, Heidi (Shawn) Myers of Brandon and Candy (Dennis) Gillespie of Mount Vernon.

Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, where a service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Marvin Haught will officiate. Burial will follow in Brandon Cemetery.

Hazel Garven
MOUNT VERNON — Hazel Garven, 77, of McKenzie Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2005, at her residence.

She was born Feb. 2, 1928, in New Philadelphia, the daughter of Howard L. and M. Margaret (Monroe) McIntire. Hazel was a member of the First Church of God in Fredericktown.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Dewey Garven; two daughters, Brenda (Daniel) Roberts and Karen (Kenneth) Neighbarger, both of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren, Rachel, Douglas, Melissa and Malinda; and one great-granddaughter, Lydia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Eric Garven; and a sister, Mildred Lamb.

Friends may call Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, where a funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. The Rev. Richard Prater will officiate.

Jacqueline Moon
COLUMBUS — Jacqueline (Kibbey) Beale Dudgeon Moon, 69, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at Wexner Heritage House.

She was born June 26, 1935, in Powell, the daughter of Samuel and Wahnetta Kibbey. She is a member of Fairfield Christian Church and the VFW Women’s Auxiliary in Stockport.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd “Bud” Moon; son, Charles L. (Brenda) Beale; daughters, Theresa (Ken) Dunkle, Melinda Muck and Brenda M. (Brad Harris) Beale; stepchildren, Gary (Judy) Moon, Thomas (Karla) Moon, Rick (Karen) Moon, Stephen (Marilynn Peters) Moon and Debbie (Bob) Deal; a brother, Martin Sullivan; a sister, Iris Schramm; 10 grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Charles L. Beale Sr.; second husband, Leo W. Dudgeon; brothers, Richard Sullivan, Harold Sullivan and Charles Kibbey; and sisters, Carol Johnson and Betty Kibbey Griffin.

Funeral service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Halteman-Fett and Dyer Funeral Home, Lancaster, with Pastors Andrew Schramm and Danny Gault officiating. Burial will follow in Mifflin Township Cemetery at Gahanna. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
