Charles E. Clements
BRANDON — Charles Edwin Clements, 77, of Sycamore Road, Brandon, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at the Autumn Health Care Center. The arrangements are under the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home.

Dorothy M. Duke
MOUNT VERNON — Dorothy Mae (Lewis) Duke, 78, of Mount Vernon died Monday, May 16, 2005.

She was retired from National Electric Coil.

Surviving are nephew, Ronald L. Carpenter; nieces, Dawn M. (Carpenter) Merriman, Sharon Mullett, Ruth Dunford and Wilma Hopper; special friends, Becky Payne, Patty Merkle, Nona Moats, Johna Gatnor, Charles and Barb Fair, Peggy and Herb Jenkins, and many others too numerous to mention.

She was preceded in death by her father, Quentin R. Lewis; mother, Nanny Cornett; husband, James A. Duke; and sister, Mable Lewis Carpenter.

Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, 49 W. Church St., Centerburg, where service will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Bill Byers will officiate. Interment will be in Sunbury Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Alta M. Martin
UTICA — Alta M. Martin, 86, of North Street, Utica, passed away Friday, April 29, 2005, at the Morrow County Hospital in Mount Gilead.

She was born March 12, 1919, in Richland County to Avery and Della (Emerson) Shively. Alta had been a member of the Palmyra Church of Christ since 1949.

She is survived by a sister, Donnabel Helter of Mansfield; a sister-in-law, Edna Fritch of High Point, N.C.; nieces and nephews, Richard (Vera) Martin, Robert (Bonnie) Martin, Joseph (Frances) Martin, Ralph Martin, Jim (Velma) Martin, Ray (Karen) Martin, Norma (Howard) Griffin, Mary (Gordon) Fischer, Don (Pam) Helter and Beverly (Dennis) Balliet; and a good friend, Carolyn Thompson of Fredericktown.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Forrest Dale Martin; a son, Gerald Martin; and a brother, Raymond Shively.

Family and friends observed graveside service. These services were under the care and direction of the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown.

Pauline E. McVey
MOUNT VERNON — Pauline E. McVey, 82, of Valley Drive, Mount Vernon, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at Knox Community Hospital. The arrangements are under the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home.
