John O. Benson
COLUMBUS — John O. Benson, 27, of Bryden Road, Columbus, formerly of Bellville, died Friday afternoon, July 29, 2005, in his residence.

He was born Aug. 22, 1977, in Canton and raised by his parents, Dennis O. and Terri (Mack) Benson in Bellville. John was graduated from Clear Fork High School with the class of 1995.

John is survived by his parents, Dennis and Terri Benson of Bellville; brother, Michael “Mick” Benson of Bellville; sister, Jenny Neal of Columbus; maternal grandparents, Laird and Mary Mack of Fredericktown; many aunts and uncles; a large loving extended family and faithful friends in addition to his two dachshunds, Buster and Buddy.

His paternal grandparents, Ralph O. and Mozelle Benson, preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. The Rev. John K. Cody will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery, Fredericktown.

Frances Clellan
HILLIARD — Frances Clellan, 81, of Hilliard died March 23, 2005.

Frances was a former Avon representative and resident of Centerburg, Apple Valley and Hawaii.

She is survived by a daughter, Martha (Dan) French; a son, George (Karen) Clellan; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Clellan.

The immediate family held a private memorial.

Margaret E. Muntz
MOUNT VERNON — Margaret E. Muntz, 90, of Mount Vernon died Sunday, July 31, 2005, at The Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon. Lillie Shoemaker
MOUNT VERNON — Lillie Florence “Tince” Shoemaker, 85, of Mount Vernon died early Saturday morning, July 30, 2005, at The Ohio Eastern Star Home after a brief illness.

Born Sept. 12, 1919, in Olive Hill, Ky., she was the daughter of Crit and Ella (Stone) Horsley. A Mansfield area homemaker since 1952, she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 236 in Mount Vernon.

She is survived by two sons, Gary (Mary) Shoemaker of Mansfield and Boyd (Janet) Shoemaker of Bushwood, Md.; a daughter, the Rev. Sonja (Donald) Bender of Kilbourne; three grandsons, Todd Bender, Michael Shoemaker and John Shoemaker; five granddaughters, Alana Bender, Deborah Mayo, Donna Jean Morris, Barbara Shoemaker and Regina Steele; seven great-grandsons, Stephen Mayo, Bryan Mayo, Tyler Morris, James Richie, Myles Shoemaker, Benjamin Shoemaker and Christopher Shoemaker; nine great-granddaughters, Katherine Mayo, Marcie Morris, Mindy Morris, Emma Richie, Angela Shoemaker, Alyssa Shoemaker, Brittany Shoemaker, Lauren Steele and Sarah Steele; two great-great-grandsons, Braden Shoemaker and Seth Shoemaker; one great-great-granddaughter, Kinley Shoemaker; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Her parents, husband, Lonnie Shoemaker, infant son, Donald Lee, two brothers, Ralph and Coy Hubert Horsley, and four sisters, Wilma Burchett, Avaniel Fisher, Lorene Jessee and Gaythiel Logan, all preceded her in death. She was loved by all her family and will be greatly missed.

Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Philip McMurrin. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
