Harold Bishop Jr.
MOUNT VERNON — Harold A. Bishop Jr., 81, of Decatur Drive, Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon. These services are under the care and direction of the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home.

Mary M. Fortner
CLEVELAND, Va. — Mary Margaret Fortner, 49, of Cleveland, Va., died Aug. 24, 2005, at her home.

She was born Jan. 18, 1956. She lived in Howard, Ohio, and moved to Cleveland, Va.

She is survived by two children, Glen Wayne Fortner of Kennett, Mo., and Tina Ann Boyd of Breaks, Va.; three grandchildren; five brothers, Dennis Fortner and Billy Fortner, both of Louisville, Ky., George Fortner of Kennett, Mo., Terry Fortner of Centerburg, Ohio, and James Fortner of Howard, Ohio; and one sister, Barbara Patrick of Howard, Ohio.

She was cremated and laid to rest in Steele, Mo. Memorial contributions may be made to the family and sent to Barbara Patrick, 29669 Rabbit Ridge Road, Howard, OH 43028.

Zelma M. Haas
MARION — Zelma Marie Haas, 89, of Marion passed away late Tuesday evening, Aug. 23, 2005, at Marion Manor Nursing Center.

Zelma was born Oct. 26, 1915, in Marion to Harold and Bessie (Leeper) Davis. She was a nurse at Mount Vernon State Hospital.

Zelma was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Maxwell; three brothers, Lloyd Davis, Harold Davis Jr. and Robert Davis; and a sister, Maxine Davis.

Surviving are her two sons, Greg (Anita) Haas of Columbus and Dwight (Janet) Haas of Meadeville, Pa.; her daughter, Jean Green of Cardington; two brothers, Larry (Linda) Davis of Philadelphia, Pa., and Jack (Susie) Davis of Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Betty Ratcliff of Marion; two grandchildren, Andrew Haas and Jody Maxwell Scarbrough; two great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Will Scarbrough; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home, 318 Mount Vernon Ave., Marion. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of her family. Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
