Paul E. Cochran
MOUNT VERNON — Paul E. Cochran, 78, of Mount Vernon passed away Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, at Mount Carmel-St. Ann’s Hospital, Westerville.
He was born Aug. 7, 1927, in Knox County, the son of Edgar C. and Ruth H. (Hyatt) Cochran and was a lifetime resident of Green Valley. Mr. Cochran was a 1944 graduate of Mount Vernon High School and attended The Ohio State University. For many years he operated Cochran Electronics in downtown Fredericktown. He was a member of the Green Valley United Methodist Church; a 57-year member and past master of the Thrall Lodge 170, F&AM; a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus, the Aladdin Temple Shrine and the Baldwin Shrine Club. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene (Wilmotte) Cochran; three sons, Joe Cochran of Mount Vernon and twin sons, Chris (Tammie) Cochran of Ontario, Ohio, and Kevin (Tami) Cochran of Dover; one daughter, Cathy Bonner of Charleston, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Evan, Haley, Cassie and Noah Cochran, and Paul and John Bonner; four sisters, Anita (Roger) Bair of Columbus, Angelene (John R.) Phillips of Mount Vernon, Katharine (William) Brown of Fredericktown and Peggy Murphy of Zanesville; and a brother-in-law, Jack Scott of Mount Vernon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wesley Cochran; and two sisters, Maxine Scott and Imogene Coffing.
Friends may call Friday, Sept. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, where Masonic services will follow at 8 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 17, at 11 a.m. at the Green Valley United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Green Valley Cemetery.
