Chuck Baker
HILLIARD — Chuck Baker, 55, of Hilliard passed away Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005.

He was a member of St. Brendan The Navigator Catholic Church, Madison County Fish and Game and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Ruth Ann; a son, Jeremy (Lynn) Baker of London, Ohio; his mother, Mary Baker; brother, Ralph Baker of Mount Vernon; sisters, Shirley Stringfellow of Mount Vernon and Betty (Colin) Hively of Cross Plains, Tenn.; grandchildren Kayla and Macy Baker; and numerous loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Baker.

Friends may call Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Tidd Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard. A Mass will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Brendan The Navigator Catholic Church, 4475 Dublin Road, Hilliard, with the Rev. Josh Wagner as celebrant.

Robert R. Guest
CENTERBURG — Robert Russell Guest, 73, of Centerburg, formerly of Rushford, N.Y., passed away suddenly Nov. 6, 2005, at the Morrow County Hospital in Mount Gilead.

He was born in Fillmore, N.Y., on Nov. 17, 1931, the son of Thomas and Grace (Russell) Guest of Rushford, N.Y. He attended school at Rushford and at the Alfred State College in Alfred, N.Y.

He and his wife, Jane, owned and operated a dairy farm in Rushford for many years, worked for Eastern A.I. Service, Agway Petroleum, Griffith Oil and Maynard Electric before retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Rushford Fire Department Rescue Squad where he served as a rescue diver for many years. He served as Rushford Town Justice, a member of the Town Board and a member of the Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Jane R. (Runckel) Guest, whom he married Aug. 21, 1954; five loving children, Robert A. (Trina) Guest of Uniontown, Jennifer A. (Jim) Swartz of Columbus, Bruce L. (Deb) Guest of Baldwinsville, N.Y., Todd R. Guest of Centerburg and Aimee C. (Brian) Agett of Franklinville, N.Y.; nine loving grandchildren, Megan Guest, Derek Guest, Alicia Swartz, Elizabeth Swartz, Heather Guest, Sarah Guest, Benjamin Guest, Rochelle Vosburg and Caleigh Vosburg; and two sisters, Mary Jane Demeree of Tucson, Ariz., and Martha Roth of Burnsville, Minn.

A memorial service and burial will be held in White’s Cemetery at Rushford, N.Y., at a later date. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Chauncey D. Hayes
MOUNT VERNON — Chauncey D. Hayes, 88, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, formerly of Orlando, Fla., passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home, Mount Vernon.

Chauncey was born Oct. 6, 1917, at Normal, Ky., son of Cecil and Nora (Gullett) Hayes. Mr. Hayes was the personnel manager and purchasing agent for Continental Can Co., Mount Vernon, and he owned and operated Electric Motor Service in Mount Vernon. Chauncey was the manager of Flex Pack Credit Union in Mount Vernon and the administrator at the Orlando Central Towers since 1978 and retired in 2002 at the age of 85. He was very active in the Center Pointe Community Church of the Nazarene in Orlando and the First Church of the Nazarene in Mount Vernon. Chauncey also founded a Christian Ministry for the homeless men in Orlando.

Chauncey is survived by his daughter, Carol (David) Seaton of Mount Vernon; one grandson, Gale David (Sarah) Seaton of Centerville; a great-grandson, Garrett Seaton; twin great-granddaughters, Megdalena and Lucia Seaton; and a brother, Ben LeMasters of Clovis, Calif.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. Hayes, on July 29, 2005; and two brothers, Cecil and Woodrow Hayes.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene in Mount Vernon with Dr. Mikel Norris, the Rev. Paul Merki and Dr. Jack Archer officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.

Chuck Shaw
BRINKHAVEN — Charles “Chuck” Lawrence Shaw, 76, of Pine Street, Brinkhaven, died Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at the OSU Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 6, 1928, in Knox County to Harry and Ruth Ann (Parsons) Shaw. On Aug. 30, 1948, he was married to Pauline (Butler). He was a member of the Moose, Eagles and AMVETS lodges in Mount Vernon.

He is survived by two daughters, Rose Ann (Richard) Gross of Ashland and Sue Ortiz of Brinkhaven; a granddaughter, Elizabeth; a brother, Richard Shaw; and his companion, Bonnie Lane of Mount Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; two sisters, Martha Beabout and June Bush; and a brother, Guy Shaw.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. There will be no funeral service.

Audrey V. Sweet
BUTLER — Audrey V. Sweet, 92, of Butler died Nov. 6, 2005, in the Ohio Eastern Star Home, Mount Vernon.

Se was born Jan. 6, 1913, in Gambier to Cloyce and Estella (Dudgeon) Jones, and was raised by her grandmother, Minnie Pilkington.

Surviving are her children, James McKee of Portage, Ind., Clarence McKee of Mansfield, Wayne McKee of Columbia, Tenn., Walter McKee of South Bend, Ind., Karl McKee of Mount Gilead, Ellen McClain, Robert McKee and Donald McKee, all of Mount Vernon, Carolyn Hallman of Fredericktown, Marilyn Keyes of Senecaville, Lois Reamsnider of Butler, Linda McKenzie of Ipswich, Mass., Nancy Hogrbe of Corona, Calif., Richard McKee of Illinois; 36 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Thomas McKee; her second husband, Daniel Sweet; a son, Roger S. McKee; a daughter, Eleanor Nottingham; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Calling hours are today from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Ken Kinley will officiate. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
