Robert C. Baker
CENTERBURG — Robert C. Baker, 67, of Centerburg died Friday, Dec. 9, 2005,
at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy.
Friends may call Monday, Dec. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, 49 W. Church St., Centerburg, where service will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Eastview Cemetery.
Rebecca Rhodes
MOUNT VERNON — M. Rebecca Rhodes, 90, of Parrott Street, Mount Vernon, passed
away Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.
She was born Nov. 23, 1915, in Six Mile Run, Pa., to William and Mary Catherine (Tenely) Blair. Mrs. Rhodes volunteered at The Laurels of Mount Vernon for many years, and was a member of The Station Break and Mount Vernon Saddle Club.
She is survived by two sons, Douglas Warren Rhodes of Chercho, Mexico, and Roger Rhodes of Manchester, N.H.; three grandchildren, Glen Rhodes of Albuquerque, N.M., Cheryl Cole of Millwood and Brad Rhodes of Manchester, N.H.; three great-grandchildren; and many friends.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Rhodes; and three brothers, Bill Blair, Vaughn Blair and Robert Blair.
The family will observe a private graveside service. Burial will be in Morris Chapel Cemetery. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Dale Sapp
DANVILLE — Dale Sapp, 61, of Danville died Dec. 7, 2005, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 15, 1944, in Mount Vernon to Raymond and Eva (Strouse) Sapp. He was formerly employed with the Chattanooga Glass Co. for 21 years and later retired in 2004, after 16 years of service with Rolls-Royce. He was a member of Kokosing Local Union 90 and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen E. (Carpenter) Sapp, to whom he had been married 40 years; two daughters, Lisa D. (Jeff) Rambo of Wyoming and Rebecca L. Harter of Amity; seven grandchildren, Marea Ann (Michael) Guillermo, Eva Mae Hamilton, Allan Ray Hamilton Jr., Amanda Jo Chavis, Angela Marie Chavis, Kayla Paige Rambo and Kaycee Jade Rambo; two great-grandsons, Xavier J. Guillermo and Xander L. Guillermo; three sisters, Bonnie (Don) Hibdon of California, Grace May (William) Wagner of Fredericktown and Betty (Lou) Stiltner of Mount Vernon; seven brothers, Herbert R. Sapp of Tennessee, John L. (Mary) Sapp of Mount Vernon, Clarence P. Sapp of Butler, Glenn R. Sapp of Georgia, Carl R. (Vicky) Sapp of Mount Vernon, Ray Sapp Jr. of Florida and Donald L. Sapp of Howard; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Marie Sapp, in 1965; and three brothers.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the North-Dilley Funeral Home, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Mound View Cemetery with the Rev. James Large officiating.

Harley L. Walton
SOUTH GATE, Calif. — Harley L. “Roy” Walton, 79, longtime resident
of South Gate, Calif., passed away Nov. 29, 2005, in Pico Rivera, Calif.
He was born Aug. 16, 1926, in Gambier, Ohio. He was the chief steward of the Local ILWCU for two years, very active in his community and is loved and will be missed by all.
He is survived by two brothers, Max Walton of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and Harry Walton of Arizona, formerly of Centerburg; 10 nieces and nephews; one daughter-in-law; two sons-in-law; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his lifetime companion, Joan H. Davison.
Services were held Dec. 4 at Rose Hills Mortuary and interment was in Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, Calif.
Patricia A. Williams
MOUNT VERNON — Patricia Ann “Memee” Williams, 63, of Mount Vernon
went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, at Knox
Community Hospital.
She was a dedicated nurse, loving children’s minister and art teacher.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; children, Antonieo (Gigi) Crum, Theodora (Anders) Blake, Jerry (Jenny) Williams Jr., Theresa (John) Meeker, Terry Williams and Vincent Crum; precious memee to DeAngelo and Giovanni Crum, Austin, Victoria and Marcus Blake, Calen, Kylee and Trey Williams, Dylan and Luke McCarrell, Ross, Curtis and Jessie Meeker, Thaddeus and Nicholas Crum, Elijah Elswick; a sister, Bonita (John) Paul; niece, Michelle (Russell) Pitcher; and devoted caregivers, Jackie William and Annette Elswick.
Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, 49 W. Church St., Centerburg, where service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Donald Matolyak will officiate. Entombment will be in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to her grandchildren’s college fund, c/o First-Knox National Bank, in Patricia’s name.
