Danny L. Etler
NEWARK — A private graveside service for Danny L. Etler, 47, of Newark will be held in South Lawn Cemetery with Jimmie Boubary officiating.

Dan died March 3, 2006, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, of many complications from diabetes and fought bravely through open heart surgery.

He was born April 16, 1958, in Edenton, N.C. to Fred L. and Shirley E. (Tully) Etler. Dan was an avid fisherman and loved fishing in Lake Erie. He was a former employee of Fleming’s Dairy in Utica. He will be missed by so many. At Dan’s request there will be no public service.

He is survived by his parents, Fred L. and Shirley E. (Tully) Etler of Utica; 11-year-old son, Billy Etler of Mount Vernon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeannie and David Ryan, and Sherrie and Gary Wheeler, all of Utica, and Sandy Etler of Lumberton, Miss.; maternal grandmother, Jennie Garrett of Foster, Ky.; nieces and nephews; and special friend, Kristen Wieke.

Ethel M. Hines
MOUNT VERNON — Ethel M. Hines, 78, of Mount Vernon passed away Friday, March 3, 2006, at Knox Community Hospital.

She was born Aug. 30, 1927, in Amity to Earl and Sarah (Johnson) Grubaugh. She retired from Mazza’s Restaurant after 25 years as a cook.

She is survived by three sons, Gerald Lee (Priscilla) Hines of Danville, Randall Lee (Myrtle) Hines and Michael Raymond (Susan) Hines, both of Mount Vernon; two daughters, Karen Sue (Richard) Walpole and Laura Jean (Scott) Waters, both of Mount Vernon; four brothers, James (Mary) Grubaugh, Stan Grubaugh, Andrew Grubaugh and Robert Grubaugh, all of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Patricia Addy of Coshocton and Judy (David) Starmer of Mount Vernon; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and an aunt, Grace Lahman of Mount Vernon.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Floyd Hines; a son, Robert Eugene Hines; brother, Kenneth Grubaugh; and a sister, Audrey Martin.

Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the North-Dilley Funeral Home, where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Julian Eibin officiating. Burial will be in Brandon Cemetery.

William ‘Bill’ Rice
COSHOCTON — William Floyd “Bill” Rice, of 17781 County Road 4, Coshocton, died March 3, 2006, in a truck accident on I-77 in Stark County.

He was born Sept. 9, 1957, in Coshocton County to William Franklin and Peggy J. (Dayton) Rice. He was a self-employed truck driver for McIlvaine International Inc. and a farmer. He was a member of the Branch United Methodist Church and enjoyed his family.

He is survived by his wife, Amy (Yarman) Rice, whom he married Oct. 31, 1987. Also surviving is his mother, Peggy J. Rice of Coshocton; four daughters, Stacy Cornelius of Warsaw, Jamie Davis of Aurora, Ind., Jennifer (David) Mart of Aurora, Ind., and Jessica Rice of the home; two sons, Scott (Shanna) Rice of Yokosuka, Japan, and Josh Rice of the home; three grandchildren, Jade Davis, Christian Rose and Colin Mart; mother-in-law, Carol (Richie) Cline of Mount Vernon; brother-in-law, Rusty (Lee) Yarmen of Ashland; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, William F. Rice; and his grandmother, Scooper.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Pastor Tom Heil officiating Burial will be in the Branch Cemetery. Visitation is today from 6 to 9 p.m. and until service time on Tuesday.

Dorothy J. Wilson
BLADENSBURG — Dorothy J. Wilson, 83, of Bladensburg died March 5, 2006, at her residence.

She was born Feb. 18, 1923, in Knox County to Robert and Frances (Orr) Glass. She was a member of the Bladensburg Church of Christ.

She is survived by two daughters, Glenna (Jeff) Moran of Martinsburg and Lavada (Simon) Dudgeon of Warsaw; one son, Keith Petry of Bladensburg; one brother, Bill Glass of Bladensburg; one sister, Eleanor (Bob) Humphrey of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Glenn Petry; her second husband, Jack Wilson; and three brothers Ralph, Ray and Roy Glass.

Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bladensburg Church of Christ, where the funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Mr. Ben McKinstry officiating. Burial will be in the Bladensburg Cemetery. The Harris-Dilley Funeral Home of Bladensburg is in charge of arrangements.
