Joyce E. Bryant
CENTERBURG — Joyce E. Bryant, 63, of Centerburg died Thursday, March 9, 2006, at her home.

She was a member of AMVETS Post 95 in Mount Vernon and AMVETS Post 59 in Centerburg.

She is survived by sons, Scott E. Bryant and Clint J. Bryant, both of Centerburg; and a grandson, Joey Bryant of Mount Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Bryant; sons, Richard E. and Johnny; and her parents, Selma and Walter Hendrickson.

Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, 49 W. Church St., Centerburg, where service will follow at 8 p.m. Private interment will be held.

Rick Kochenderfer
MOUNT VERNON — Rick M. “Captain Hook” Kochenderfer, 52, of Divelbiss Road, Mount Vernon, formerly of Adario, Ohio, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2006, at Knox Community Hospital following a lingering illness.

He was born Sept. 23, 1953, to the late Donald Albert and Beatrice (Howard) Kochenderfer. Rick graduated from Crestview High School in 1971 and remained in the area to operate the family farm. He later went on to establish his own trucking company. Rick had a great passion for gardening. He was a member of the Adario Methodist Church.

He is survived by his loving companion and best friend, Brenda Black of Mount Vernon; his children, Mary (Chad) Young, Katy Kochenderfer and Benjamin Kochenderfer, all of Columbus; his brother, Larry Kochenderfer of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and many friends with whom he had great bonds.

By his request, there will not be a funeral service, but rather a memorial service to celebrate his life, which will be held Sunday, March 26, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Butler Township Hall in Adario. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, is caring for the family with these arrangements.

Ronda Michael
CANTON — Ronda (Rudrick) Michael, 42, of Canton passed away Thursday, March 9, 2006, from complications after a 12-month battle with breast cancer.

She was employed by Bob Evans – Belden Village. Ronda was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church and the American Legion Auxiliary, Canton Post 44.

She is survived by her husband, Nicholas Michael; sons, Andrew and Alex; daughters, Amber and Mareena Dee; mother and stepfather, Peggy and Jerry Gantt of Columbus; father and stepmother, Frank and Pat Rudrick of Centerburg; sister, Connie (Daniel) Hobner of Oviedo, Fla.; father- and mother-in-law, George and Sally Michael; sister-in-law, Andria Michael; stepsisters, stepbrothers, nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Arnold Funeral Home. Trisagion Services will follow at 8 p.m. Friends will also be received at 10 a.m. prior to the funeral services, which will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating will be the Right Reverend MARK, Diocesan Bishop, The Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Cervo, Archpriest, The Very Rev. Fr. Theodore E. Ziton, Archpriest, and The Rev. Fr. Deacon Basil Shaheen. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the Antiochian Village Camp Fund of the St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 1118 Cherry Ave. NE, Canton, OH 44704.
