Joyce E. Bryant
CENTERBURG — Joyce E. Bryant, 63, of Centerburg died Thursday, March 9, 2006, at her home.

She was a member of AMVETS Post 95 in Mount Vernon and AMVETS Post 59 in Centerburg.

She is survived by sons, Scott E. Bryant and Clint J. Bryant, both of Centerburg; and a grandson, Joey Bryant of Mount Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Bryant; sons, Richard E. and Johnny; and her parents, Selma and Walter Hendrickson.

Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, 49 W. Church St., Centerburg, where service will follow at 8 p.m. Private interment will be held.

Greg Charles
CENTERBURG — Greg Charles, 41, of Centerburg died unexpectedly early Saturday morning, March 11, 2006, from injuries sustained in an all-terrain vehicle accident near his home.

He was born Sept. 20, 1964, in Columbus to William H. and Phyllis M. (Webb) Charles of Cardington. A graduate of Centerburg High School Class of 1983 and Knox County JVS mechanic’s program, he had been a resident of Centerburg since 1982.

Greg worked in the custodial department of Centerburg Elementary School, caring for the school grounds and tending to the school’s maintenance. He could fix anything and only had to be asked once. In addition to his mechanic skills, he was an aspiring drag racer, with his Toyota named “Tow-yota,” aka: “Saturday Nite Hooker” for its wrecker theme.

Known for his wonderful smile, he was most proud of his family, new dream home and garage. He enjoyed children, darts, paint ball gunning and playing cards. He followed NASCAR, especially No. 8 Dale Earnhardt Jr., collected Earnhardt memorabilia and was a member of AMVETS in Centerburg.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 24 years, Katrina (Colopy); son, Andy (Rob) Colopy of New York City, N.Y.; daughter, Kimmy (Josh) VanHorne of Rich Hill; sisters, Annette (Bobby) Smith of Marengo and Lisa (Cheyenne) Marteney of Edison; parents-in-law, Keith and Sue Colopy of Centerburg; brother-in-law, Kevin (Dawn) Colopy; sister-in-law, Karlyn Rudrick, both of Mount Vernon; grandmother-in-law, Erma Colopy of Mount Vernon; special canines, Baby and Bud; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at Ohio 61, Sunbury. A memorial service will be held for his family at later date.

Audry Lee Hubbard
SUNBURY — Audry Lee Hubbard, 57, of Sunbury died Saturday afternoon, March 11, 2006, at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville.

He was born Nov. 27, 1948, in Sunbury to Harry H. and Mary A. (Duncan) Hubbard of Sunbury. A lifelong area resident, he worked as a machinist for 30 years.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Edna (Campbell); sons, Willard (Amy) Hubbard of Marengo, Steve (Debbie) Hubbard of Westerville and Shawn (Jennifer) Hubbard of Johnstown; 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Phillip, Carl and Thomas Hubbard; sisters, Alice Sheets and Tena Stringer; a brother-in-law; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Arnetta Jones, in 2002; and mother-in-law, Clarice Campbell-Helton, in 1994.

Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at Ohio 61, Sunbury, where services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Crate Sparks officiating, interment will follow in Bloomfield Cemetery.

Paul E. Jordan
BUTLER — Paul E. Jordan, 96, of Butler died Thursday afternoon, March 9, 2006, in The Ohio Eastern Star Home, Mount Vernon. The Bellville Snyder Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.

Dorothy R. Patterson
MOUNT VERNON — Dorothy R. Patterson, 88, of Mount Vernon died March 6, 2006, at Knox Community Hospital.

She was born Aug. 26, 1917, in Blawknox, Pa., to John Irvin and Phyllis Ruth (Hays) Rea. She worked for many years as a secretary for Kenyon College. She retired to pursue her interests in coin collecting and quilting.

She is survived by a sister, Roberta L. Luli of Venice, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Patterson, in 1990; and a sister, June Phyllis Lustman.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. The North-Dilley Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.

Mark D. Runyon
LOUISA, Ky. — Mark David Runyon, 43, of Louisa, Ky., passed away Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa.

He was born Oct. 22, 1962, in Columbus, Ohio, to Arthur B. and Glenda Kirk Runyon. He was a farmer and construction worker.

He is survived by his mother of Louisa, Ky.; fiancee, Pam Hinton of Louisa, Ky.; a daughter, Sarah Hill of New York City, N.Y.; four sons, Dustin James and Mark Anthony Runyon, both of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and Tyler Steven and Travis Lee Hinton, both of Louisa, Ky.; two sisters, Karen Prince and Shannon Sturgill, both of Louisa, Ky.; two brothers, Arthur Runyon of Louisa, Ky., and John Runyon of Mount Vernon, Ohio; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Wilson Funeral Home, 1270 Highway 2565, Louisa, Ky., where friends may call Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Thomas Canterbury will officiate the service. Interment will be in Warfield Cemetery at Warfield, Ky..
