MOUNT VERNON — Corinne “Corky” Ansel, 80 of Upper Gilchrist
Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Monday, March 27, 2006, at the Ohio Eastern Star

Betty J. Gregory
YUCAIPA, Calif. — Betty J. Gregory, 88, of Yucaipa, Calif., died Feb. 20,
2006, at Yucaipa Valley Board and Care.
She was born Jan. 1, 1918, in Mount Vernon, Ohio to Charles and Abigail Gregory. She graduated in 1936 from Mount Vernon High School and was employed at San Bernardino State College Athletic Department for many years. She served in the WACS during World War II, stationed in London, England.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Elsie Lonzo, Nell Conway, Ruth Gregory, Edna Pullian, Martha Beck and Frances Gregory.
Interment was held Feb. 28 in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Calif.
Earl E. Hannah
NEWARK — A funeral service for Earl E. Hannah, 78, of Newark, will be held
Thursday, March 30, at 10:30 a.m. at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta Funeral
& Cremation Service with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. Burial will follow
in Wilson Cemetery where military honors will be observed by the Licking County
Veterans Alliance.
Mr. Hannah died March 26, 2006, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born May 3, 1927, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late Raymond and Edith (Walker) Hannah. Mr. Hannah was a veteran of the U.S. Army, faithfully serving his country during the Korean conflict. He was employed by the Farm Bureau for over 20 years, retiring as mill manager. He was an avid gardener and was a genius at growing things.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and is survived by his wife, Mildred Ellen (Ashcraft) Hannah; two daughters, Julie Armstrong (Bruce Maxwell) of Newark and Kathy Mayle of Florence, Ky.; four sons, Dave (Micky) Hannah of Granville, Don (Debra) Hannah of Gambier, Chris (Beth) Hanna of Heath and Jim (Bobbi) Hannah of Newark; 16 grandchildren, Tracy Hannah of Bahrain (U.S. Navy), Tyler (Andrea) Hannah of Hebron, Brian (Lindsay) Guscott of Lakewood, Jeffrey (Ashlee) Hannah of Columbus, Brooke Rettig of Santa Barbara, Calif., Sam, Hannah and Simon Mayle of Florence, Ky., Dylan and Makayla Hannah of Heath, Aaron, Heather and Megan Hannah of Newark, Ryan Armstrong of Delaware, and Adam and Alex Armstrong of Newark; one great-grandchild, Graham David Hannah of Hebron; and two sisters, Dorothy Smith of Hanover and Gawnola Faye Morrow of Newark.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Bowers; by a brother, Paul Hannah; and one infant brother.

Richard L. Wolford
FREDERICKTOWN — Richard LeRoy Wolford, 77, of Smith Road, Fredericktown,
passed away Sunday, March 26, 2006, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.
He was born Dec. 31, 1928, in Knox County to the late Charles and Helen (Rockwell) Wolford. Mr. Wolford worked 26 years for Chattanooga Glass Co. before retiring from MOTA after 15 years of employment. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, the Glass Bottle Blowers Association and the Local 99 where he served as vice president. Mr. Wolford served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth (Harding) Wolford; two sons, Michael Wolford of Columbus and Gary Wolford of Mount Vernon; a stepson, Wesley (Jeannette Rice) Mc Kenzie of Mount Vernon; a stepdaughter, Diane (Jim) Newton of Mount Vernon; three grandchildren; a brother, Walter Wolford of Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Linda (Larry) Legros of Gambier; and a half sister, Barbara (Danny) Dibble of Mount Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Wolford; a brother, Keith Wolford; stepmother, Evelyn Wolford; and step father, Leonard McElroy.
Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 807 Coshocton Ave., Mount Vernon, OH 43050. The Rev. Mikel Norris will officiate. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.
