MOUNT VERNON — Arla Jeannine Curtis, 70 of Mount Vernon died April 12, 2006,
at her residence. The North-Dilley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
George N. Kaparos
COLUMBUS — George Nicholas Kaparos, 81, of Columbus died of complications
from diabetes Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at home with his loving family by his
side.
He was born May 7, 1924, in Mount Vernon, the son of the late Nicholas and Aruti (Asimakas) Kaparos. He retired as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Sanese Services following over 30 years of service. Previously, he worked at Battelle Memorial Institute for 18 years. George was a 1941 graduate of Mount Vernon High School. During World War II, he served as a combat engineer with the 3rd U.S. Army in Europe for three years. Following his discharge, George attended The Ohio State University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carolyn; sons, Nicholas (Metta) of Jacksonville, Fla., and their children, Nicholas, Elyse and Samantha; Ralph (Marjorie) of Upper Arlington and their sons, Andrew and Colin; Thomas (Geri) of Upper Arlington and their children, Alexander and Cassandra; James (Kristi) of Upper Arlington and their children, Kyle, Cole and Courtney. Also surviving are sister-in-law, Ruth Snow of Mount Vernon and her family; as well as many dear friends.
There will be a private family gathering and a celebration of life service Friday, April 14. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus. Thomas C. Kleinman
MOUNT VERNON — Thomas Charles Kleinman, 57, of Mount Vernon died Tuesday,
April 11, 2006, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
Thomas was born Feb. 19, 1949, in Mount Vernon to Louis C. and Helen L. (McCann) Kleinman and had spent most of his lifetime in Mount Vernon. He was a 1968 graduate of St. Vincent High School in Mount Vernon and had been employed with American Building Services of Dayton. Thomas was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon.
Surviving are his son, Jamie Paugh of Springfield; his brother, Jerry J. Kleinman of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Mary A. Kleinman and Martha L. (Keith) Magee, both of Mount Vernon; his niece, Helsa J. (Jason) King of Gambier; his nephew, Luke R. Magee of Cincinnati; several great-nephews; a great-niece; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, April 18, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon, with the Rev. Ted Thomas officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Mount Vernon. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.

Louretta V. McLeary
BROOKSVILLE, Fla. — Louretta V. (White) McLeary, 87, of Brooksville, Fla.,
passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice House, Brooksville,
Fla.
Born in Harrison County, W.Va., she moved to Florida in 1970 from Mount Vernon. She was a homemaker and member of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by two sons, David (Donna) White of Dallas, Texas, and Donald (Pam) White of Mount Vernon; one daughter, Debra L. Holbrook of Brooksville, Fla.; one sister, Virginia Townsend of Largo, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Herbert White, Ralph Dean and Carroll McLeary.
The North/Meadowlawn Funeral Home in New Port Richey, Fla., was in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Quiet Dell, W.Va.
Melissa J. Moore
MOUNT VERNON — A memorial service for Melissa J. Moore will be Friday, April
14, 2006, at 7 p.m. at Criss Schoedinger Funeral Home, 179 Granville St., Newark.
She died Sunday, April 9, 2006, at OSU Hospitals in Columbus.
Melissa was born Oct. 20, 1985, in Tampa, Fla., to James F. and Marilyn (Carpenter) Moore. An avid softball player and devoted mother, she is survived by her fiancé, Dale Woody; daughters, Alana and Hannah; mother, Marilyn Moore of Mount Vernon; father, James F. (Cheryl) Moore of Newark; maternal grandmother, Betty Carpenter of Mount Vernon; sisters, Brandi (Gary) Crane and Jamie (Zach) McCullough; brothers, Scott Rolf (fiance Dawn Feaster) and Jason Rolf; nephews, Adam and Andy Crane, Nathan McCullough; and many aunts and uncles.
