Beverly Ann Berger
FREDERICKTOWN — Beverly Ann Berger, 71, of East Sixth Street, Fredericktown, passed away Sunday evening, May 21, 2006, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus surrounded by her loving family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Snyder Funeral Home, 33 E. College St., Fredericktown.

Betty Bockover
SPARTA — Elizabeth V. “Betty” Bockover, 86, of Sparta went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 20, 2006, at the Country Court Nursing Center in Mount Vernon.

She was born Sept. 4, 1919, to George Paul and Della Blanche Carr. She was a lifelong member of the Sparta Advent Christian Church.

She is survived by her sister, Jane Duston of Fredericktown; sons, Raymond (Helen) Bockover of California, Gary (Linda) Bockover of North Carolina, Daniel Bockover of Mount Vernon, David (Bonnie) Bockover of Edison; daughters, Edna (Harold) Shafer of Mount Vernon, Mary Ruth (Alan) Berry of Marengo, Charlotte (Tom) Farson of Sparta; 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; and most beloved cat named Samantha.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bockover; sister, Mary Ann Compson; daughter, Anna Bockover; two granddaughters, Karen and Laurie; and a great-granddaughter, Rachael.

Betty was a nurse’s aide for 40 years at Mercy Hospital, Knox Community Hospital, Chesterville Manor Nursing Home and Mount Vernon Rest Home.

She was active in Cub Scouts, State & Local WH&FM President, Youth Group Leader, Hope Line volunteer, Sunday School teacher and VBS teacher, Missionary Loyal Workers, church editor and writer of Maranatha Daily Devotional Guide. After she retired, her last contribution was the Foster Grandparents Program at the Mount Vernon Developmental Center.

Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading, and sewing and making rag rugs.

Friends may call Tuesday, May 23, from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon. Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 24, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Bloomfield Cemetery near Sparta.

WARSAW — Charles E. Dubosh, 60, of 35 Edgewood Drive, Warsaw, died Friday, May 19, 2006, at his home following a long illness.

A graveside service will be today at 2 p.m. at the Valley View Cemetery in Warsaw. Calling hours will be from noon until service time at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw. BRINKHAVEN — James McClain, 58, of State Street, Brinkhaven, died Monday, May 22, 2006, at his residence. MOUNT VERNON — Robert J. Wells Jr., 75, of Mount Vernon died May 21, 2006, at the Country Court Nursing Center. The North-Dilley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Arley D. Walters
MOUNT VERNON — Arley Dean Walters, 76, died Friday, May 19, 2006, at Knox Community Hospital.

He was born June 13, 1929, in Mount Vernon to the late Clarence R. and Evaline L. (Nethers) Walters. Arley loved fishing, watching movies and playing pool.

He is survived by two sisters, Kay (Stephen) Hults of Mount Vernon and June (Charles) Hillier of Marion.

A funeral service will be Tuesday, May 23, at 1 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville with Pastor Lloyd Miller officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery near Gambier. Calling hours will be today from 6 to 8 p.m.
