Stephan L. Baller
UTICA — A funeral service for Stephan Louis Baller, 19, of Utica, will be
held Saturday, June 10, at 10 a.m. at Utica Church of Christ, 115 N. Central Ave.,
where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Alan Pratt will be officiating,
followed by committal service in Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, at 3 p.m.
Stephan died June 6, 2006, at his residence. He was born Jan. 3, 1987, in San Pedro, Calif., to Mark Robert Baller and Sandra Lee (Erickson) Doughman.
He graduated from Utica High School/JVS. He enriched our lives and will be missed by all who knew him. He was employed by Cleveland Construction.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Sandra and Devin Doughman of Utica; father, Mark R. Baller of Columbus; brothers, Eric Baller and John Baller, stepbrother, Dustin Doughman, and stepsister, Alysha Doughman, all of the home; paternal grandfather, Robert Louis Baller of Dayton; aunt and uncle, Beth Ann and Frank Heath of Dayton; cousins, Christopher Heath and Lyndsey Emery; and the love of his life, girlfriend, Sara Ables.

Helen V. Davis
MOUNT GILEAD — Helen V. Davis, 92, of Township Road 127, Mount Gilead, died
early Wednesday morning, June 7, 2006, at Morrow County Hospital.
She was born July 17, 1913, in Ashley to Walter L. and Jennie E. (Foust) Howard. Helen was a lifelong homemaker and a graduate of Ashley High School in 1931. She resided in Marengo until 1975 when she moved to Mount Gilead. Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother to all her family. She loved baking pies and fixing food for those she loved.
On Oct. 20, 1933, in Newport, Ky., she married Milton A. Davis; and he preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 1998.
Survivors include her son, Harold (Bev) Davis of Mount Vernon; a daughter, Janet (John “J.P.”) Newson of Mount Gilead; grandchildren, Stanley and Nancy Newson and Steve Newson, all of Mount Gilead, Cyndi and Clyde Hulver and Randy and Robby Davis, all of Marengo; great-grandchildren, Stan, Megan, Ethan Jenna, Nathan and Rachelle Newson, Aimee Newson and fiancé Kevin Case, Robyn and Ian Mott, Aaron Hulver, Kyle and Shane Davis; great-great-grandchildren, Owen Mott and Aydyn Newson; and special friends, former daughter-in-law, Roberta Davis, John Townsend and Dixie Griffith.
In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call today, June 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Gompf Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, June 9, at 11 a.m. in Maple Grove Cemetery at Chesterville.
