John C. Eagle
MOUNT VERNON — John C. Eagle, 58, of Mount Vernon died suddenly Sunday,
Aug. 6, 2006, at home.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret (Patrick) Eagle of Mount Vernon; brothers, Larry J. (Diana) Eagle of Mount Vernon and Daniel (Carol) Eagle of Troy; niece, Melisa (Michael) Rothey; nephews, Michael, Nathan and Nicholas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Delbert L. Eagle.
Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, 49 W. Church St., Centerburg. Graveside service and burial will be Friday, Aug. 11, at 11 a.m. in Eastview Cemetery at Centerburg. Evangelist Fred Albrecht will officiate.

Ben Imhoff
RITTMAN — Ben D. Imhoff, 74, of Rittman died Aug. 8, 2006, at Dunlap Memorial
Hospital in Orrville.
He was born on Aug. 19, 1931, in Rittman to Clarence and Naomi (Ramsier) Imhoff, and was a life resident of the Rittman/Sterling area. He was CEO of Ben D. Imhoff Inc. of Orrville, where he was employed for 48 years. He was a member of the Grace Brethren Church of Norton and Wayne County Builders Exchange. He served on the Rittman Board of Education for 14 years, Ida Sue School Board, and the Wayne County Career Center Board. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving are his wife, Lynnette (Winkler) Imhoff, whom he married June 7, 1952; sons, John (Julie) Imhoff of Rittman, Ben (Linda) Imhoff of Rittman, Scott (Cathy) Imhoff of Orrville, Todd (Connie) Imhoff of Wooster, and James Imhoff of Rittman; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Joann (Robert) Widmer of Sterling, Jeannette (Dale) Stoller of Sterling, Delores (Marion) Bauman of Rittman, and Sandra Franks of Rittman.
Service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Grace Brethren Church, 3970 S. Cleveland-Massillon Road, Norton, with Pastor Robert Combs officiating. Burial will be in Rittman Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Drive, Rittman, and Friday one hour before services at the church.

Karolyn P. Kennedy Davis
MOUNT VERNON — Karolyn P. Kennedy Davis, 97, a resident of The Laurels of
Mount Vernon, was born on Jan. 4, 1909, to James and Grace (Patterson) Strickler
in Boggstown, Indiana.
She left a legacy of love on Aug. 7, 2006, to her family, friends and all who knew and cared for her.
She will rest along with her first husband, Fred W. Kennedy, in Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville, Indiana, awaiting the soon coming of our savior.
Her survivors include: Miriam Strickler Hoover, Glenn A. Hoover, Debi (Hoover) and David Duke, Lauren K. Duke, Edward A. Hoover, Susan S. Hoover, Edward A. Hoover Jr., Alicia Anne Hoover, Sherry Lynn Hoover and Zoe Arianna Hoover.

Harold E. Kanuckel
BRADENTON, Fla. — Harold E. Kanuckel, 87, formerly of the Danville/Howard
area, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2006, at his home in Bradenton, Fla.
Mr. Kanuckel was born July 24, 1919, in Blissfield to Guy and Gladys Kanuckel. Harold was a veteran of World War II, a staff sergeant serving in the Pacific. He was employed in the farm implement business in Danville, Coshocton and Mount Vernon. As a young man, he was an active member of the Cincinnati Reds Farm Team.
Mr. Kanuckel is survived by his wife, Betty; his daughters, Beverly Stearns of Portland, Ore., and Kathy (David) Stowell of San Diego, Calif.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Clay Spurgeon; and two nephews.

Margaret A. Smith
MARYSVILLE — Margaret A. Smith, 74, of Marysville and formerly of Claibourne,
died unexpectedly Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, at Memorial Hospital of Union County.
She was born Aug. 29, 1931, in Council, Va., to John and Bessie (Bostic) Wilson. She was a homemaker who attended Claibourne Advent Christian Church. She was a voracious reader and a prolific gardener. She was a loving person who often cared for her elderly neighbors and who will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by a son, Gary (Correl) Smith of Centerburg; three daughters, Debra (Michael) Virden of Beaver Creek, Leslie Dianna Mark of Bucyrus and Ronda Hisle of Marysville; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, John Wilson Jr. of Colonial Heights, Va., James Wilson of Chesapeake, Va., and Robert Wilson and Donald Wilson of Council, Va.; three sisters, Luanna Watts of Albany, N.Y., Bettye Mills of Mount Vernon and Lois Johnson of Council, Va.
On March 4, 1954, she married Lester Smith, who died Feb. 23, 2002. She was also predeceased by her parents and two sisters.
The Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood was in charge of the arrangements, with burial in Maskill Cemetery.
