Dwight Chadwick
BUTLER — Dwight E. Chadwick, 73, of Butler died Sept. 9, 2006, at The Laurels
of Mount Vernon.
He was born Dec. 20, 1932, in Mount Vernon to Paul Edgar and Ellen Elizabeth (Hookway) Chadwick. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and a lifelong resident of Knox County. He was a farmer and former employee of the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co., and the Ariel Corp. until his retirement in 1994.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. (McDermott) Chadwick, to whom he had been married 48 years; one daughter, Pamela (Ed) Foster of Mansfield; two sons, Douglas E. (Susie) Chadwick of Butler and David E. Chadwick of Boulder, Colo.; three grandchildren, Douglas (Angela) Chadwick of Mount Vernon, Jessica Chadwick of Athens, Courtney Chadwick of Butler; three stepgrandchildren, Drew (Jessica) Foster of Arlington, Va., Lee Foster and Scott Foster, both of Mansfield; two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Dakota Chadwick; one sister, Roberta (Charles) McNeal of Mount Vernon; and a brother, John (Barbara) Chadwick of Martinsburg.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry D. and Gordon H. Chadwick.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Mound View Cemetery, with Pastor Robert Law officiating. Immediately following the service family and friends are welcome to the Chadwick home to share memories of Dwight’s life. The North-Dilley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mary A. Earnest
MOUNT VERNON — Mary A. Earnest, 73, of Mount Vernon died Friday, Sept. 8,
2006, at the Country Court Nursing Center in Mount Vernon following an extended
illness.
Mary was born May 31, 1933, in Akron and had spent most of her lifetime in the Mount Vernon area. Mary leaves no known survivors. She leaves behind her caregivers and adopted family, Mike and Tammy Bowers and family; Andy and Crystal Harding and family; Jan Williams; Deborah Kinzer; Sukhdeep Cheema; and her friends and staff at New Hope Industries and Easter Seals.
Private graveside services will be held in Pleasant Cemetery. A memorial service will be Thursday Sept. 14, at 7 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 8764 Martinsburg Road, Mount Vernon, with the Rev. Merlyn Jones officiating.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.

Torlene M. McDowell
BLADENSBURG — Torlene Mae McDowell, 69, of Bladensburg died Sept. 10, 2006,
at her residence. The Harris-Dilley Funeral Home in Bladensburg is in charge of
the arrangements.
Charles R. Taft
NEWARK — A Mass of Christian burial for Charles R. “Bob” Taft,
81, of Newark will be held Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament
Catholic Church where friends may call one hour prior to service from 10 to 11
a.m. The Rev. Timothy Hayes will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery,
Newark, at a later date.
Mr. Taft died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug. 31, 1925, in Newark to Andrew and Martha (Sasser) Taft.
Charles is survived by his wife of 60 years, Madeline (Campolo) Taft, of the home; two sons, Michael Taft and Charles R. Taft II, all of Newark; three daughters, Patricia Taft Ernest of Newark, Barbara Taft Verducci of Powell and Margaret Taft Ghiloni of Newark; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Kathleen Taft of Columbus; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Eileen Whitt and Mary Jacqueline Skal; and nephew, David Jones.
