82, of Mount Vernon, will be held Friday, Dec. 29, at 2 p.m. at Law-Baker Funeral
Home with Pastor Terry Holobaugh officiating. Burial will follow in South Lawn
Cemetery.
Stuart died Dec. 26, 2006, at Country Court Nursing Center, Mount Vernon. He was born July 29, 1924, in Licking County to the late William and Edna (Aspaugh) Bovard. He was a member of Utica Presbyterian Church and a retired World War II Army veteran. Stuart was also a retired farmer and real estate broker.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Edith (Farmer) Bovard of Mount Vernon; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Kathy Bovard of Fort Collins, Colo.; daughter, Cindy Munyan of Blacklick; granddaughter, Katie Munyan of Blacklick; and sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Homer Dillahunt of Tipp City.

WARSAW — Robert Owen Davis, 75, of 41025 U.S. 36, Warsaw,
died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, at the Coshocton Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Phyllis Ann Fluhart
NEWARK — A funeral service for Phyllis Ann Fluhart,
73, of Newark will be held Thursday, Dec. 28, at 8 p.m. at the Newark Chapel
of Henderson-Van Atta Funeral & Cremation Service. Inurnment will take place
at Newark Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Mrs. Fluhart died Dec. 25, 2006, at Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). She was born Dec. 29, 1932, in Newark to the late James Orr and Velma (Harter) Orr. Mrs. Fluhart retired from National City Bank. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the professional secretary association.
She is survived by a husband, Richard Fluhart of Newark; a daughter, Cindy (Scott) Gray of Newark; a son, John Fluhart of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren, David and Tommy Fluhart and Nick and Erin Gray; and a great-grandchild, Aliyah Fluhart.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Earl.

Edward L. Johnson
LOUISVILLE — Edward L. Johnson, 70, of Louisville died
Dec. 23, 2006, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville.
He was born on Dec. 26, 1935, in Shelby to the late Charles F. and Cecile (Cordrey) Johnson. He was a member of the Berlin United Methodist Church in Fredericktown. He retired from the Developmental Center as an activities director and was also a retired minister. Mr. Johnson was a volunteer for the American Red Cross.
He is survived by his son, David (Tawney) Johnson of Mount Vernon; a daughter, Susan Johnson of Shelby; sister, Charlene (Wilbur) Hill of Mount Vernon; two grandchildren, Michael and Holly Johnson; a special friend, Aletha Workman of Louisville; niece, Marcie Wiggins; nephews, Steven (LeAnne) Hill, Tom (Karen) Hill and Philip Hill; 10 great-nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Buffy.
He was preceded in death by an infant twin.
Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the North-Dilley Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jeremy Ray officiating. Burial with military honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will follow in Mound View Cemetery.

Ruth L. Smella
WALHONDING — Ruth L. Smella, beloved mother, of Newcastle
Road, Walhonding, passed away, of natural causes, on Monday, Dec. 25, 2006, at
her home.
She was born on March 20, 1921, in Galion to the late William H. and Anna (Amann) Keckler and moved to Knox County in 1959. Ruth was a member of the Tan and Toil Garden Club where she held every office during her years of membership, the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs (OAGC) where she held numerous offices and particularly looked forward to the annual Nature Study Camp, which she attended for over 30 years. She also entered her flower arrangements in the Knox County Fair and the Dan Emmett Festival where she won ribbons and awards. She displayed her arrangements at the Ohio State Fair and enjoyed working with children by participating and teaching during Arbor Days at Columbia School.
She is survived by her two sons, John “Steve” (Joan) Smella of Galion and Fred Smella of Walhonding; two daughters, Kathryn (Dr. Alan) Resor of Columbus and Janie Hirst of Clayton, Ga.; six grandchildren, Vince Resor, Amy (Resor) Bullard, Darrin Smella, Kristin (Smella) Miller, Fred Smella and Kathryn Smella; three great-grandchildren, Clayton Bullard, Hayden Bullard and Reagan Resor; three sisters, Martha (Gene) Frey of Mansfield, Gert (Chuck) Quesenberry of Elyria and Grace (Don) McNair of Mansfield; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen John Smella; four brothers, Bobby, Art, John and David Keckler; and three sisters, Rose Anna Winn, Betty Zurcher and Helen Garrett.
Family and friends may call Thursday, Dec. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home. A service will be held on Friday, beginning at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Joe Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Galion with the committal service beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Vernon L. Todd
SPENCER — Vernon L. “Toddy” Todd, 82, of
Spencer passed away Monday, Dec. 25, 2006, at Hospice at The Inn At Medina.
He was born in Mount Vernon on March 30, 1924, to Roy M. and Laural (Kennedy) Todd and had resided in Spencer for the past 31 years. Mr. Todd had worked for Lamb Glass in Mount Vernon and later worked for Fruehauf and GM Terex West in Cleveland, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Jesus Our Savior Catholic Church in Spencer, and was an avid fisherman and hunter and had enjoyed trap shooting, horseshoes and stock car racing. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran in the China Burma Theater.
Surviving are his wife, Carol (Flynn), whom he married on July 1, 1946; children, Michael Todd of Spencer, David “Pete” (Linda) Todd of Lodi, Jeffrey L. (Tammy) Todd of Sunbury and Julie Graimaldi of Huntsville, Ala.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; half brother, Joe Todd of New Mexico; half sister, Margie Jones of Marion, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Jim and Bill.
Funeral service will be Friday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. at the Jesus Our Savior Catholic Church, 356 N. Main St., Spencer. The Rev. Ron Bryda will officiate. Burial will follow at Spencer Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Parker & Son Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St., Spencer.
