Wathena M. Kreider
COSHOCTON — Wathena Marie Kreider, 83, of 1529 E. Main St., Coshocton, died Jan. 4, 2007, at her residence.

The funeral will be Monday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, where visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. and on Monday one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Don Dolick will officiate. Burial will be in the South Lawn Cemetery at Coshocton.

Vernon L. Moses
UPPER SANDUSKY — Vernon L. Moses, 74, formerly of North Warpole Street and recently of Fairhaven Health Care Community, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, at 1 p.m. in the Wyandot Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 8, 1932, in Salem Township, Wyandot County, to Van Chester and Sarah Ann (Mannon) Moses. They are both deceased. He is survived by son, Jeffrey Lee Moses of Rock Springs, Wyo.; daughter, Brenda Sue Blankenship of Upper Sandusky; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother, Raymond T. Moses of Victorville, Calif.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Basil Eugene Moses and Edward Moses, and a brother that died in infancy; sisters, Irene Gill and Evelyn Hogan.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 10:30 a.m. in the Bringman-Clark Funeral Home with the Rev. Floyd Radabaugh Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery with full military rites conducted by local veterans organizations. Friends may call Monday, Jan. 8, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Larry D. Skaggs
MOUNT VERNON — Larry Dean Skaggs, 65, of Tucker Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at his residence.

He was born June 21, 1941, in Billings, Mo., to Hershel and Patricia (Gearen) Skaggs. Larry served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962, where he was stationed in Japan and Hawaii. He worked many years for Pittsburgh Plate Glass as a glasscutter before going into business for himself in 1976 as L.D. Skaggs Excavating. Larry loved the outdoors where he enjoyed camping, fishing at Lake Erie, bird watching and gardening. He was a member of the Colonial City Baptist Church in Bangs and was a former member of the Dixie Squares Square Dance Club. As Larry would say, “Praise The Lord.”

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Linda (Butler) Skaggs; a son, Robert D. Skaggs of Mount Vernon; a grandchild, Blaire Lynn Skaggs; a brother, George (Ruth) Skaggs of Pasco, Wash.; three sisters, Betty (Jim) Gault of Grandview, Mo., Roxie (Dean) Suthard of Benedict, Minn., and Becky (Randy) Lackey of Williams, Ore.; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Colonial City Baptist Church in Bangs. The Rev. Dan Whisner will be officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will follow in Friendship Cemetery.

Esther E. Wacker
MOUNT VERNON — Esther E. Wacker, 88, of Mount Vernon passed away at her residence surrounded by her family on Friday morning, Jan. 5, 2007.

She was born Aug. 2, 1918, in Columbus to Howard and Eva (Coe) Cottrell. She was a 50-year member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ.

She is survived by four daughters, Ann G. Beroth of West Palm Beach, Fla., Janet L. Wacker of Mount Vernon, Kathy (Ralph) Bowers of Cambridge and Elizabeth (Bob) Guisinger of Bellville; a sister, Ruth L. Cottrell of Mount Vernon; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Wacker, whom she married on Oct. 19, 1941; two brothers, William and Kenneth Cottrell; and a brother-in-law, Charles Wacker.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at North-Dilley Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Stuart Ph.D. officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery.
