William H. Delaney
MOUNT VERNON — William Henry “Bill” Delaney
went to be with our Lord and Savior on Feb. 13, 2007, at Knox Community Hospital
in Mount Vernon.
He was born Sept. 5, 1937, to William and Edith (Hickey) Delaney. Bill worked most of his life in the ministry and he touched the lives of all who knew him with his kind and gentle nature.
He is survived by four daughters, Leslie (Andy) Wright of Independence, Ky., Dana (Bob) Stulka of Howard, Ashley (Scott) Mitchell of Charlotte, N.C., and Darcy (Eston) Albury of Savanna, Ga.; three grandchildren, Eston, Jordan and Delaney; a sister, Peggy (Jerry) Pollard of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; and a brother, Charles (Betty) Delaney of Lexington, Ky.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Joey Capibianco.
A funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Maple Grove, Ky. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Kentucky. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is in charge of arrangements.

MOUNT VERNON — Lorraine E. McDougall, 81, of Mount
Vernon passed away Wednesday evening, Feb. 14, 2007, at the Ohio Eastern Star
Home. The North-Dilley Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Michael W. McLain
MARENGO — Michael W. “Weed” McLain, 51,
of Marengo died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, at Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus.
A lifelong resident of Morrow County, he was born on March 24, 1955, in Mount Gilead and graduated in 1973 from Highland High School.
He is survived by his daughter, Crystal Jones of Marengo; son, Ryan McLain of South Carolina; grandson, Dylon Jones; mother, Sondra (Bishop) McLain of Ashley; sisters, April McLain (Kevin Yeager), Lisha (Chuck) Rawlings, Laurie (Dave) Plotner, Cheri (Jim) Berry; brother, Kent (Lori) McLain; grandmother, Fannie B. McLain; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, William C. McLain, in 1993.
Friends may call Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Gilead Friends Church, 3613 County Road 115, Mount Gilead, where services will follow at 1 p.m.; interment in Marengo Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury.

Juliann ‘Julie’ Slater
MOUNT VERNON — Juliann Slater, 45,
of Mount Vernon died Feb. 3, 2007, at her mother's home in Florida.
A native of Indianapolis, Ind., Julie worked as an air traffic controller in both Indie Center, Ind., and Columbus, OH. She loved excellent cuisine, and experiencing nature. In 1999, she launched a career in horse training starting a business called Outback Horse Ranch. She played many instruments and sang beautifully in many area churches. She was a member of the Vineyard Church of Knox County.
She is survived by her husband of 13 years, James Slater; and daughter, Lindsey Slater of Mount Vernon; son, Karl Talamantis, and grandson, Isaac, of Marysville; mother, Melba Withrow of Beverly Hills, Fla.; brothers, Bradford Girdley of Beverly Hills and Larry Long of Indianapolis, Ind.; sisters, Debbie Gibbs of Kansas City, Mo., Nancy Smith of Centerville, Tenn., and Margo Jarvis of Beverly Hills.
The FERO Funeral Home, Beverly Hills, Fla., was in charge of arrangements.

died Thursday morning, Feb. 15, 2007, at Hardin Hills Nursing Center in Kenton.
