passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon. The arrangements
are under the care and direction of the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home.
Charles Rockwell
SPRINGFIELD — Charles E. “Rocky” Rockwell,
55, of Springfield died March 13, 2007, in Community Hospital.
He was born Aug. 14, 1951, in Arcadia, Fla., to Lawrence A. and Frances (Hunt) Rockwell. He was retired as a driver with Active USA Inc. after 25 years of service. Charles was a member of the Union Club, Machinist Club, Moose Lodge and social member of the AMVETS 189.
He is survived by three children, Candy (Andrew) Pratt, South Carolina, Ashley and Amanda Rockwell, Kentucky; two grandchildren; a sister, Kathy (Rich) Hardwick, Mount Vernon; nephew, Brad Porter; two great-nephews; dear friend, Lorena Van Hoose; and loved by many cousins and aunts.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 20, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Ray Sharpes officiating.

Carrie E. Wicker
MOUNT VERNON — Carrie E. Wicker, 50, of Mount Vernon
died unexpectedly March 12, 2007.
She was born Oct. 3, 1956, in Mount Vernon to Harry F. and Marian E. (Cole) Handwerk. Carrie worked several years at the HillenVale and Country Club nursing facilities. She loved to read and enjoyed working with her flowers.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Gerald L. Wicker; son, Collin of the home; one brother, Roger (Beth) Handwerk of The Woodlands, Texas; three sisters, Kathleen (Donald) Roderick of St. Louisville, Gayle (David) Ewing of Englewood and Michele (Robin) Tisdale of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no services or calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Moundbuilders Guidance Center, 8402 Blackjack Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
