Brenda S. Black
MOUNT VERNON — Brenda S. Black, 57, of Keys Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2007, at her home.

She was born Feb. 20, 1950, in Galion to William E. and Kathryn L. (Ackerman) Robinson. Brenda was a 1968 graduate of the Fredericktown High School and was employed for 38 years with American Electric Power in Mount Vernon. She attended Beulah United Methodist Church and Liberty Chapel Church. Brenda loved gardening and taking care of her flower beds, but most important to her was the quality time she spent with her loving family and friends.

Besides her parents she is survived by her husband of 30 years, Dale Black; a son, Jared Black of Mount Vernon; a daughter, Melanie (Mike) Dudgeon of Bellville; and father- and mother-in-law, Thomas and Jo Ann Black of Mount Vernon.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 20, at 3 p.m. at the Beulah United Methodist Church, 8261 Columbus Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050. Friends may call one hour prior. The Rev. Tom Fowler will be officiating. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Richard M. DeLauder
MOUNT VERNON — Richard M. DeLauder, 60, of Mount Vernon died May 9, 2007, at Knox Community Hospital.

He was born Aug. 4, 1946, in Mount Vernon to Alfred and Leota (Brooks) DeLauder.

There will be no calling hours. Private graveside funeral services were held today.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Richard’s name to Mount Vernon Seventh-day Adventist City Church, 425 S. Edgewood Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050.

James R. Osborne
ASHLEY — A graveside service for James R. Osborne, 75, of Ashley, was held today at 11 a.m. at South Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Ric Harvel officiating.

Ralph died May 8, 2007, at his residence. He was born Jan. 24, 1932, in Drill, Va., to the late Elbert and Dorra (Adkins) Osborne.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and Kenny Swint of Mount Vernon, Mildred and Doug Worden of Utica, Della and John Worden of Big Sandy, Texas, Peggy and Elmer Blankenship of Mount Vernon, Nina Osborne, Barbara and Tim Quarles, all of Columbus, and Gerlayne and Roger Newsome of Newark; son and daughter-in-law, James Roger and Monica Osborne of Mount Gilead; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Myrtle Osborne of Honaker, Va.; sister, Eva Fuller of Drill, Va.; 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and life companion and caregiver, Darlene Fowler.

He was preceded in death by three brothers.

Sandra A. Poirier
SURPRISE, Ariz. — Sandra Arlene Poirier, 63, of Surprise, Ariz., ended her battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 6, 2007, in Arizona.

She is survived by her daughter, Sue Ann (Greg) Ulen, and grandson, Ryan Ulen, of Howard, Ohio. Sandra is also survived by her sister, Joyce Riegler, of Rainier, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael A. Poirier, in 1994.

Sandra was born Feb. 25, 1944, in Columbus, Ohio, and was a teacher for over 20 years for the Hilliard City School District.

A memorial service will be held Monday, May 14, at 7 p.m. at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, where family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Monday until time of service.
