passed away Wednesday night, June 13, 2007, at the Knox Community Hospital in
Mount Vernon. Arrangements are pending with the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in

CENTERBURG — Bettie Jackson, 83, of Centerburg died Thursday
morning, June 14, 2007, at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville. Arrangements

Leslie M. O’Dell
MOUNT VERNON — Leslie M. O’Dell, 50, of
Mount Vernon died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at his residence.
Leslie was born Jan. 7, 1957, in Mount Vernon and had spent his lifetime in the
Mount Vernon area where he had been employed at Knox New Hope Industries.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Barbara E. (Caillet) Steward and Arthur Steward of Mount Vernon; and his brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Debbie O’Dell of Mount Vernon.
His father, William O’Dell, preceded him in death.
Friends may call Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon where funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.

Phillip E. Richards
LEESBURG, Fla. — Phillip E. Richards, 62, of Leesburg,
Fla., passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at The Ohio State University Hospital.
He was born March 5, 1945, in Rutland, Vt., to Donald and Helen (Higgins) Richards. Phillip was an entrepreneur. He was the creator and co-owner of Dos Locos Gringos Mexican Imports. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife and soul mate, Jamie (Perry) Richards; five daughters, Kari (Rob) Weistling, Jessica (Zac) Franz, Carissa (Troy) Neater, Sheri and Brenda; a son, Tom; seven grandchildren, Dustin, Bryce, Tyler, Morgan, Kaleb, T.J. and Zoe; two sisters, Barbara (Stuart) Holmes and Janet (Jerry) Parker; and many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Bonnie Forlenza.
A private Celebration of Life Service will be observed by the family in Fort Myers, Fla. The arrangements are under the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.
